No one wants Hamer he will see his contract out there

For some reason you have always had a downer on Hamer, and as we all know once your mind is made there is no changing it. Even in Hamer's final season with us when he had sorted his disciplinary issues out and stepped up another level you would not credit him for it. I presume on the basis that Grendel can never admit to being wrong!

Anyhow without any knowledge either way I suspect you are wrong in this instance and that he will move on before the end of the transfer window. I certainly imagine he would like a move but if Sheffield United play hardball and price him out of the market he might have to stay put. We will see come the end of August.

He had a £20m release clause at the start of last season and no one wanted him

They obviously could sell at a loss but why?

Unless they take under £15m they won't be making a loss! As the end of the transfer deadline nears and the games of bluff between buyers and sellers comes to a head we'll have a better idea of course. Hamer doesn't seem the type to actively push for a move by causing a stink, but Sheffield still need to consider the risk of carrying a demotivated player, and the likelihood that his optimum transfer value is likely to be right now, when he has just come off a season where he was widely recognised as the best outfield player in the Championship. If he does 'happily' remain where he is then Sheffield United will be a much bigger threat in the Championship, that is for sure.
