The money was spent before Lampard came in.

Grimes £3.5m
KKH £3.5m

Binks £2.5m
Gyokeres somewhere around £3m
Well…how do you know that? Given that Lampard was here when we signed Grimes…

Anyway, I don’t know either. Just speculation really.

I just want us to sign Doyle.

Added up all the fees as we brought in players. By the time Lampard came it was all spent.

Of course Lampard was here when we signed Grimes. That's why I listed him as a player signed after Lampard arrived 😂

But you said the money was spent before Lampard came in?

I sense that we could go on here.

We get between £10m and £12m Tv revenue and King is funding the clubs operational losses of 7m every season. Money will be there to buy.

Yes. Will be polite and not looking for an argument.

Money spent before Lampard arrived.

Lampard signings

Grimes £3.5M
KKH £3.5M

Binks £2.5m
Gyokeres about £3m

So we haven't got money left over from the sales of Gyokeres and Hamer as you thought.

It's not just about transfer fees but increasing wage bills. We know in the past that add ons and windfalls have been built into funding operating costs. Additionally, we will be paying out additional ons etc for the signings we've made.

That’s not how the club operates when evaluating its transfer budget

It isn't. But as you know I was responding to someone who was saying we're still positive from their sales and is now trying his best not to understand. Now you come along looking to cause an argument as usual.

How am I creating an argument.

No transfer fees are made public anyway. All anyone knows is a transfer surplus as of May 24 of £23 million which offset operating losses of £14 million. It’s pure conjecture after that

I'm pretty sure the Hamer/Gyokeres original fees were well used up by the time last summer came around, especially after the EMC signing and Robins was still given a decent chunk of change to play with. You'd have to assume Lampard will be afforded the same opportunity.

Id always assumed Mason Clarke was in the published accounts as one of the signing fees to be honest

The thought of funding a 7m loss every year would be shit
it is a bit of a risk/investment

You could argue, that the value of the club is at least £20m more than it was when Doug acquired it
As such, if he sold tomorrow, he would not be down at all and is probably why he put the £15m in to the club

If we did get promoted, he would be very much in profit, and must still be the target, which he is continuing to find - hence bringing in FL

Yes exactly. The average wage has surely gone up last couple of years. Replacing a player who was on say £10k per week with one on £20k will cost about £1.5m more over a 3 year contract. I can imagine Grimes being on £20k+ replacing someone like Kelly being on £10k or less. That can take a decent chunk out of money received on transfer fees.

? the two comments are unrelated
Unrelated but contradict each other. That's how you normally trip yourself up constantly.

You say no transfer fees are made public.

KKH £3.5m
Grimes £3.5m
Binks £2.5m
Hamer £15m
Gyokeres we even got updates on % change as well as amounts.

You have a slight one with Simms. £3.5m but we didn't know which add ons were worth how much.

So which ones were not made public?

They haven't been made public officially, these are fees that have been 'reported' but never made official. They are likely to be fairly accurate of course but we never know the make up of those fees especially (i.e. what is guaranteed and what is add ons).

None are made public in terms of fees paid and EMC was paid in the published financial year when you look at the accounts
