I hate this site... Hope about going to butts. Then see something on twitter denying it. But it was from a Wasps season ticket holder.

Would definitely go if it was at the Butts, but you can’t take anything at face value with Sisu so this could just be another PR scheme. Like others said, would be worried that demand would exceed supply if it is the Butts.

Surely more than that would attend though??? I mean, all the "Coventry must play in coventry" lot haven't got an excuse not to attend???

Whilst in theory the idea of CCFC playing at the Butts has much merit - I even offered to work with Fisher on pushing it through last time it raised its head - but I believe that CRFC have moved on and the 4G pitch is on the verge of being installed and cannot see Jon Sharp postponing something that is for the long term good of his beloved rugby club. A 4G pitch is not allowed in the football league and Sharp isn't going to stop it at the 11th hour. The ground would need massive work to get it ready for the start of the season and they would need the cooperation of the council in terms of safety certificates, road planning etc. I think the will might be there from CCFC but not sure its there from CRFC and time is definitely against it. Sadly St Andrews seems inevitable.

I am sure there will still be some fantastic sporting occasions at the Ricoh.

Can’t see the area coping. Very small car park, Earsldon and Spon End not exactly reliable street parking. Would also need more allocation than what the BPA has as I think far more would attend than if it was an out-of-Coventry groundshare.

Also, pretty sure it’s a massive porky anyway!

That's easy done. If we leave the Ricoh it leaves a gap there for the trust to move cov Utd in.

Jan, are you a member of any of these, SBTrust, JHWay or PresevationSB?

Are you a Season Ticket holder of any of these also, CCFC, CRFC or Wasps?

People will park in town and walk.

If we can have 40,000 attending a festival at the memorial, there is no reason why we can't have 10k at the Butts.

Am a member of Trust, although not an active member anymore, not a member of JHWay or PSB. Not a season ticket holder at CCFC, CRFC or Wasps. Was season ticket holder at CCFC for decades but now living in Cheshire cannot get down often enough to warrant one.

A lot of car parking space is created for the Godiva festival. A large part of the memorial park is turned over to it.

That’s a good point. At a guess does the BPA hold around 4 maybe 5k seated and standing? Rugby really isn’t my thing so I can’t even pretend to know too much about the place.

But parking again. As opposed to car parks A, B, C and all the other offsite car parks that sometimes struggle to accommodate say 13, 14k. Is a lot more ideal than parking in a City Centre on a Saturday afternoon. Just can’t see it.

Car Parking is a red herring, I noticed there was hardly any at the Stadium of Light Saturday (capacity 49k), St James Park the same.

Ok, appreciate you clarifying where you're at, as I remember you being involved with the trust a while ago and also a ST holder at CCFC.

Did you stop being so active with SBTrust because you moved away or was there some type of disagreement before that? (Rings a bell with me?)

(Just being nosey tbh)

Moved away and the distance made attending weekly meetings too onerous and quite frankly lost heart in the fight. No real disagreement with Trust in general, they are City fans through and through and giving up large amounts of time and energy to do what they feel is right for the fans and the club. Don't always agree with everything they do or say or some of the PR they put out but it would be a boring world (and a dead website) if we all agreed on everything. Attending City matches was a slightly different matter, although distance is a factor I had season tickets with my Dad at HR and then the Ricoh but he is now simply too frail to attend matches and hasn't been since we were moved to Northampton - it just isn't the same going without him.

It's not the Butts, Jon Sharpe has said it's a regurgitated two year old story. No credit to it whatsoever.

His words were literally "Two year old story, nothing to say." It's a bit of a short statement isn't it?

As predicted, it's another chance to repeat how he has said he would never work with SISU etc. Completely failing to mention the proposal he put in to the Council originally for a groundshare which made things go sour

By the library? If so he did me as massive favour once.woke up on Sunday morning with raging toothache. Wad due to fly to Ibiza in the evening.
He was the only dentist on Cov open on a Sunday, rang up, they told me to come straight up, was in and out minus the offending tooth in about 15 minutes and off for a toothache free holiday a few hours later.

From Saturday's programme, John Sharpe "...it has been a very intense process putting together the options for stadium development and we are now very close to signing contracts. As I have always said, the restrictions brought by the BPA footprint mean we have one chance of getting this right and therefore the old carpenter's " motto of measure twice cut once", is very appropriate here.

Nick, 4g pitch....I think CRC have their own plans and are too far down the line to accommodate SISU muddling them.

He was never going to change his plans to accommodate City. Whether sisu owned or not.
He's a shrewd cookie doing his best for CRFC and good luck to him.

I suspect the extra revenue gained from having CCFC there would dwarf what they'd make from non-matchday revenues on their 4g pitch. From his comments in the past it sounds as though he's been warned off associating with the club (I assume by the council).

As far as we no, there's no current ongoing legal action anymore and still no sign of talks for the Ricoh.

I'm not sure. Remember his plans include accommodation and retail.
Didn't he also once say that they would need to foot the bill for improved infrastructure in the area if they had a 20,000 plus capacity stadium. Can't remember the exact figure he quoted but it was eye watering, in to the tens of millions.
