Do think there may well be massive opposition from local residents though and also traffic problems trying to get anywhere close on match days (or indeed past the place)

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Just thought i would ridicule and attack the idea and the club on day one.

High five?

No bless them they are very ambitious
Trying to get 30k as they know you need that in the Prem
Unfortunately they have 8000 people on a waiting list for season tickets that they can't capitalise on whilst they wait.
Thanks for proving the point an ideal example.

We will always be second fiddle at the Ricoh because our leaders say we are leaving.
We need to commit to the Ricoh or have a real plan.

Isn't that what they're working on? Anderson said he had a list of 16 (?) points that needed to be addressed with Wasps to make a long term deal viable and while they are looking at that they are also looking at a ground share with CRFC.

What about both?
If they (SISU) are genuinely trying to explore all avenues, and decide on one that will actually move the club forward, then I'm glad.

I do believe the Ricoh is the way forward for CCFC, if they could secure revenues and some ownership there. But would be happy with a 25,000 stadium close to the city centre.

We will always be second fiddle because our illustrious council sold out to a franchise.

This could be a real plan... so we can assume it has your support? Or does that not fit in with your pro-franchise agenda?

I would love this to happen but seriously it never will. Ccfc will never play at butts park arena obviously but the thought is nice.

The Ricoh was and still in the way forward, it could of been bought for 6m and instead we are talking about leasing or sharing with Cov rugby that would have huge costs and implications and objections. Couldn't make it up really.

Our future is at the Ricoh one way or the other.

Before I get anywhere near to excited about this I want to see some actual plans and figures. I also hope if the plans are good someone gets a zoo in a headlock to force it through. I want a monkey butlers in waistcoats before and during the game and no more mincing about in Foleshill.

For a nice thought you don't seem particularly thrilled.

I think you'll find the only people that 'could have bought' the Ricoh for £6m did.

Well that's because it will never happen. The roads and infrastructure just simple can't take it and if we can we are building a little stadium with no expansion. It simply isn't viable. That's all.

The Ricoh is the future somehow someway. 32k stadium already built with a perfect location. I know I know about wasps but surely going to the butts assuming it happened it just a step back.

I'd argue it's not in a perfect location. It's in the arse end of cov and is an absolute mission to get to unless you drive. No pubs. No monkey butlers. No waistcoats.

There may be a lot of work to go into making the Butts viable - but it's not impossible.

The Ricoh can't be the future - it's gone. The council put paid to that.

If we did make it to the Butts, then maybe we become a more viable option to a potential buyer in the future.

Yes but I haven't seen clarification on what it would be for us. We would be sub letting it I think I read. Who is paying for a 20k stadium? Cov rugby get 1000 bare in mind so 20k stadium doesn't help them. Roads and housing clearly can't take it lets be honest. So would we be more viable to a new owner? We wouldn't own the butts would we? In fact we would be subletting a smaller ground and sharing with a smaller rugby club? I don't see it sorry.

I agree with the Ricoh is gone but was it all the councils fault? Not so sure myself. More 50-50 for me but I worry more about sisu they are our owners not ccc.

Duggins seems better than Lucas and reading his reaction to the appeal losing he said he finds it unacceptable ccfc is in league 1 and wants an end to all the legal cases. He is right and seems clued up more than the fuckers before him. (Lucas et al)

My point is the Ricoh is already buildt and is the perfect size and location for all our needs and city. Yes we don't own it but there must be a way? It's already there.

The idea of dropping legal action is reasonable. But it needs to be on the proviso of 'drop the legal action, and we will help you make this happen if you are going to do this' rather than 'drop the legal action and we might have a little think about it'

Let's be honest - CCC haven't exactly demonstrated truthfulness and honesty over the last 18 months have they?

Here is a thought, could butts park be the new sixfields but in Coventry. Move there for 5 years with a decreased budgeted crowd but more as people would still go unlike Northampton. Wait for wasps to struggle and do the whole plan again?

It's either that or this is just a bargaining tool to access more of the Ricoh and a good deal with wasps after the next 2 years are up. This is what I think is happening. We know sisu have no money and are not spending a penny on us so new grounds etc are all fantasies. To back this up something really needs to be in place and signed within the next year or so. Once the next two years are up at the Ricoh And then what? Something needs to happen.

Exactly, there's no reason talks can't take place. Then if and when it gets to a stage that things are ready to really start moving forward thats the point for dropping legal action.

Just saying we're not even talking to you unless you drop all action is foolish and shows continued refusal to help the club on the part of CCC.
