Even though they are currently established in the Butts. Good luck with that one.

Just to side track for a moment quick questions for you.

Would you rather have:

a) 25% of £10,000,000
b) 100% of £1,000,000

CRFC are pretty cash strapped so they would get a free refurbishment and development/expansion of the stadium and its facilities as well as benefiting from the extra revenue this would bring in, revenue which wouldn't be possible without the football club.

Seems a decent deal to me, if CRFC or there fans don't want it though I agree its a non starter. I wouldn't want to try to strongarm them into something they weren't interested in like Wasps tried to do to Wycombe Wanderers.

As you suggest it needs to work for both clubs.
The same logic could be applied at the Ricoh.
Wasps need to appreciate what we require to get to the PL as it is also to their benefit that we get there.

So you think there's no chance of CRFC agreeing to something that could increase their revenue but Wasps will agree to something that will lower their revenue.

Well as Cov utd look like they are moving there next season it seems City have left it to late yet again.
So now need to buy that land before we lose out on that too.

You need to get past this.
If CCFC are not there they will loose revenue.
We need to see if a deal exists that keeps us at the Ricoh because it is cheaper and generates more income than building and maintaining a new stadium.
If that deal generates Wasps a bigger income than they get now and provides us the income to give us a chance of the PL then it's a bonus.

In reality Grendels link shows that to get out the Championship we need to pay wages above the actual revenues generated and this means that we need owners that will put money in.

Coventry supporter joins in discussion and raises questions about CCFC/team owners, about its present and future and is doing so on a CCFC fans forum........ go figure

Then you understand wrongly don't you, they are neither deep nor philosophical questions, and take no time really to compile because they are reasonably straight forward and aimed at realities. Indeed some of the questions are very similar to ones posted by others who take part in discussion and have something to offer but are unchallenged by you. I have my own thoughts as to why they do not get the same challenge. :thinking about:

So I am supposed to ask questions about Wasps, but not allowed to ask questions about CCFC on a CCFC forum because you say I wont get answers. Why would Wasps answer any more than CCFC.

Clearly you have questions you need answers to regarding Wasps can I suggest you go on the sub forum on this site or the Wasps forum and ask them. I am not going to do it for you nor am I going to rise to your repeated snide remarks and innuendo.

Just for clarity no I haven't commented much on the finances of Wasps but nor have I commented on those of CCC or SISU for 2015. They all have interesting high and low spots. Really not that important to me but CCFC and its future is.

As to Wasps intentions I would think it is not very difficult to work out. They mean to maximise income from the complex with or without CCFC in order to finance a push towards becoming the most successful English Rugby team. They have offered to discuss a long term deal with CCFC and would have to be pretty dumb to not realise CCFC require extra income to power their (CCFC) drive up the divisions, so you might think they might intend some sort of mutually beneficial long term partnership to achieve that. That has been met with rhetoric seeking a move away, details of a supposed joint venture at BPA and a "demand" for a short term deal. Such a response I find troubling because if I were Wasps I would be saying go on then but this is the deal here until you go with very little access to other incomes. But that's just all supposition and guess work because no one actually answers any questions do they......

But I will still keep asking my questions and I will ignore your advice/demands thanks

"They have offered to discuss a long term deal with CCFC" - Have they ? How do you know? When?

"So I am supposed to ask questions about Wasps, but not allowed to ask questions about CCFC on a CCFC forum because you say I wont get answers. Why would Wasps answer any more than CCFC." - Exactly my point!

But owners are starting from then point when the clubs revenue is in the bottom 3-4 in the league and there is a limit of how much money owners can out in in the championship. Therefore if all owners out in the maximum, we will still be in the bottom 3-4 in the league.

We need every piece of revenue we can get, our turnover is hampered by the lack of access to it, and despite decent attendances our revenues will still be one of lowest in the league.

Wasps aren't going to be giving us too many favours. How much of the stadium rights do you think they will give us?

That is fascinating reading. Amazing how many clubs are foreign owned and amazing how success is often followed by massive losses. Football is certainly not a profit-making enterprise for the vast majority of clubs. Seems like the only way for owners to make money is by some form of skullduggery.

There's so much money in the PL now clubs in the championship will spend a fortune trying to get there. Problem is they can't all make it so the majority just end up with huge debts. If you're lucky you'll have an owner who will write the losses off when they get bored and move on, if not you end up in a mess.

It will never happen with Sisu. Just another pointless campaign to keep the FA of their backs! Let's just concentrate on the football.

I know I'm very much in the minority here, but I've always thought it likely that somehow or other a new stadium would have to be built. I can understand why people haven't believed TF, as his job at SISU seems to have been to head up the misinformation department. But Chris Anderson is in a completely different position. Why would he come in as a high profile figure within the game, shoot his mouth off about stadium plans that don't exist and a meeting with the FA that hasn't happened, without being genuinely convinced that we will soon be acquiring a new stadium. He has everything to lose by making false claims. Equally, he has everything to lose by demonstrating that he is being duped by our owners, or that he is stupid enough not to know the difference between Coventry City Council and the adjoining areas or not to know that basic knowledge of this kind matters to City supporters. The really interesting bit for me appears to be the suggestion that CCC may be willing to contemplate some kind of an accommodation with SISU about a ground in the city for the City. Let's hope common sense prevails and we get something akin to HR Mark 2.

Every other club aspires to improve themselves but we have been so downtrodden over the last few years that WE will take any shit. So now we find that we will accept going back twenty or thirty years and end up with a stadium like Doncasters or Rotherhams both of which are crap. Instead of finding ways of filling a 30000 plus stadium we are looking at 15 to 20000. We have really become a joke club people talking of HR2 now that's the biggest joke of all, except it's not funny it's embarrassing.

It isn't taking any shit. It is being realistic. Those of us being realistic are verbally attacked from those that want us to have a stadium that would cost a fortune and those of us that just want our own stadium whatever size it is. Where is the money going to come from? SISU are not going to spend close to 50m for a state of the art stadium. And a 12,000 seater is not big enough. We need a 20,000 seater minimum if we are going to go forward.

Whatever anyone says the Butts is not the answer. There is just not enough land. Not even if one was built within a few foot of existing buildings that wouldn't be allowed. Old stadiums were close to houses. But a lot of the time houses were built around them. And this was about 100 years ago for most of them. And the traffic on a Saturday can be a nightmare around the Butts. I drove near it on my way to Swindon a few weeks ago. We ended going in the wrong direction and then going on the outskirts of Coventry to go Kenilworth way to get out of the traffic jams trying to get into the city centre. Car park spaces are not easy to find. Try adding a couple of thousand cars to this. Street parking would be made permit only. Most of us would love to have a stadium near the city centre. But if you are being realistic there are too many things against the Butts. And that is without the land not being big enough.

So we have no land to build a stadium. We have no money to build a stadium. The realistic answer is to rent the Ricoh and hope to get to the Prem. Just getting there would pay for a stadium. We would have one season as whipping boys but it would secure our future. Could TM get us promoted this season and then do it again? I wouldn't bet against it. Yes clubs spend an absolute fortune trying to get into the Prem. But spending money is the easy part. Small clubs do get into the Prem. And as long as we don't limit ourselves with a small stadium we won't be a small club. And doing well in the Championship could be what we need to get the right buyer for our club.

Also has a point, that could be the end result of SISU's tenure a smaller limited stadium, still never mind if that hamstrings the club more than the issues at the Ricoh as long as Joy can get out without a loss ehh.

12,000-15,000 for a 'new' stadium at the BPA?

15,600 today for a League One match surely finally puts that ridiculous notion to bed once and for all.

Yes, if Les Reid’s information is correct and CCFC are thinking of an initial 12 – 15K, we would be locking people out for fixtures like yesterday’s.

His article also said there was potential for “more than 20,000”, whatever that means. I’m not pre-judging anything the club wants to propose, and I think the Butts idea may be serious. The city centre would be great, but it will take some incredibly clever architecture and a hell of a lot of money to make that site suitable.

Sure I heard on BBC Cov this morning that Rugby Council last night announced their " Local Plan". Earlier this year it was mentioned that one of the club's preferred sites was within the borough and they needed to get their finger out to get it included in the plan otherwise it would pretty much be a non starter (- as if it wasn't before!).

Seems this famous stadium won't be near Rugby then!

This does not counter LR's story. It smacks of Simon looking for a consolation scoop to counter the LR story
