Poor ol' Jamie Allen...ever the bridesmaid.Imo
Rushworth 6 just never had anything to do
Mve 8 very important to way we play
Thomas 7
Kitching 7
Jds 9 made basic things look easy after the last game stepped up
Grimes 8 just keeps the team ticking
Torp 8 looks his goal well
Eccles 7 just getting the minutes into his legs
Sakamoto 6 not been impressed passed couple games really needs to step up
Asante 7 good taken goal impressed with the lil lift he put on it
Haji 6 needs to start being ruthless if he is our main CF
Simms 7 should of scored but team got the rebound just like the Norwich game
Kkh 6 decent getting minutes into his legs
Brau 6 tbh starting to look not good enough needs.more.minutes when opportunity's represent themselves
Kat glad he got a few minutes a few more cameos to see what he can do
Wished wolf got his debut for a few mins near the end although you can't drop thomas or kitching atm without them making a big mistake
If it were a VAR decision it’s given I think (if Torp hasn’t knocked it in) Ref without VAR - not so sure to be fair.Nah, Simms has was never getting a pen for that.
There is at least goal line technology in the Championship. If it were a VAR decision it’s given I think (if Torp hasn’t knocked it in) Ref without VAR - not so sure to be fair.
Also, ball over the line without technology? Ref / Lino might not give it.
Just saying
Grimes is just the stand out player in games like this. He can sit with the back two and dictate play which then allows the full backs to advance. Then he moves in midfield and plays the ball easily as well as mop up poor passes.
The midfield totally controlled the game. It was about the easiest game I’ve seen for a while
He was well angry today! That CB was a skilless CNUT! He was doing all kinds to Haji and the ref did sod all about itI thought Haji got bullied today but he tracked back and put a shift in. Completely different player to the end of last season.
Would’ve been a pen all day long-great advantage by the Ref to wait and see the result with the ball ending up in the net.Nah, Simms has was never getting a pen for that.
Wright was either injured or not fully recovered from his injury for most of last season. Now we're getting the benefit of a fully fit Wright and an improvement of all the players around him. Our opponents try to mark him out of the game but it gives the rest of the players extra space.I thought Haji got bullied today but he tracked back and put a shift in. Completely different player to the end of last season.
Maybe a straight red? Was he last man? Clear opportunity?Would’ve been a pen all day long-great advantage by the Ref to wait and see the result with the ball ending up in the net.
Had a decent game aswell to be fair.
Tricky one that. Forget this “last man”nonsense which is a myth and a favourite of the all so intelligent pundits. The correct law is “Denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity” but the defender didn’t do that as Ellis got a shot on target or a half shot if you likeMaybe a straight red? Was he last man? Clear opportunity?
Not that it matters but if that were play offs and VAR…..
Didn't do enough off the ball for me; was carelessly offside when played in with acres of space by Grimes; and then missed a glorious chance. Don't think he won one header.Weight 5.5 seriously. Put a shift in against a horrible centre half and got their player sent off
Nah, never a pen. The threshold for a pen is higher than in other areas of the pitch. He'd have had to pull him back a lot more than he did so that it effected Simms momentum for it to be given. It's not a massive pull on the shirt. Under the test of was it impactful? No. And did it hinder Simms movement? No, not really. The other factor is, was their mutual holding? Yes there was.Would’ve been a pen all day long-great advantage by the Ref to wait and see the result with the ball ending up in the net.

Constantly tracked back and was an absolute menace to them. Just being there got their player sent off.Didn't do enough off the ball for me; was carelessly offside when played in with acres of space by Grimes; and then missed a glorious chance. Don't think he won one header.
Simms was too honest, other players would have gone down having their shirt pulled he kept going and tried to score .Nah, Simms has was never getting a pen for that.
But that would have required a much stronger pull. Simms has a fistful of the defenders shirt when you see it from the other angle.Simms was too honest, other players would have gone down having their shirt pulled he kept going and tried to score .
Simms is a rare forward who hardly ever gets booked. But that would have required a much stronger pull. Simms has a fistful of the defenders shirt when you see it from the other angle.
Have a look at yourself.Didn't do enough off the ball for me; was carelessly offside when played in with acres of space by Grimes; and then missed a glorious chance. Don't think he won one header.

There is a thread for comments on the match in general. This one is for player ratings. I don't need to have a look at myself. I always give my honest assessment. Sometimes others agree, sometimes they don't, which is what it is all about. The time I will have a look at myself will be when I am afraid to give my opinion.Have a look at yourself.
Haji worked hard, their CB’s tried to bully him, ending in one being sent off. Yes he
missed a good chance, but just enjoy a good victory where the whole team played well.
Wright plus every other player deserves credit for today’s performance.
Grimes very good and great response from Da Silva. We looked comfortable all afternoon - how often can we say that!
I really liked what I saw of Andrews when he came on.
Couple of nice little lay offs in tight areas which showed a lot of confidence
Yeah, you have to take into account we were playing a tired and well beaten 10 men by that point but all he can do is keep performing when he gets a chance.
Obviously good all round.
Top marks for: Torp - lot's of good stuff in the middle; MVE (altho why did he not chance a shot with his left?); Grimes and Kitching
For all his good showing is Da Silva a long term solution? Brum were poor at exposing his defensive weakness.
Poorest: Wright. May have worked hard but we pay him to get into places to score goals. Oddly you may think, but I'd put Saka in this category as well - he is such a one trick pony. It's a good trick but the better defenders learn how to marshal him pretty quickly.
Hon mention for Simms who had already proved admirably direct even before the third goal
Not sure yet what kind of player Andrews is? At the moment he is a midfield worker bee but not sure what his personality is, in the way we know exactly the personalities of Torp, Rudoni and Grimes.
Wright got the man sent off that in effect won us the gameObviously good all round.

Got to trust the tech. I’ve watched countless replays and still not there to the naked eye.If it were a VAR decision it’s given I think (if Torp hasn’t knocked it in) Ref without VAR - not so sure to be fair.

Better than being complacent.why are you picking out negatives?
No but you can rest them when it's a comfortable performance,if he's up to speed with our system.Poor ol' Jamie Allen...ever the bridesmaid.
8. Did really well to square the ball for Hadji to miss.
