Missed first 30 minutes. What I saw for the rest of first half was so pedestrian. Don't see the point playing at that tempo when they were only playing 45 minutes, apart from Andrews. Might as well just had a training session. Not going to improve match fitness playing walking football.
Second half much better.
Seems mean to say but I was really disappointed seeing that Collins still being given game time.
Raphael looked okay. Nice turn of pace and lovely ball across leading to the OG. Simms I thought was very ineffective. Kelser Hayden looks a good signing. Grimes decent as ever and Torp was good. Andrews grew into the game and looked comfortable, albeit against an awful side. He looks quick and I would like to see him run at players a bit more.

You missed the best bit of the first half.

I broke a seagulls neck in 2006 to put it out of its misery as it had 2 broken wings. Cant forget how it pecked at me and fought as it realised what was happening. Still think about it now and wonder if i made the right call. I like birds and i did it with the best of intentions as it was in a bad way but man, still feels wrong.

Only just back, stopped for a KFC, came out, and they'd closed J12 to 11 on the M5. I swear im cursed. Every time I drive to a midweek away game, there seems to be accidents or diversions for roadworks.

This is the reality for every home game for many of us too.

Why wouldn’t they be giving Collins game time?

Andrews looked comfortably ahead of their players and they, I suspect, will be top end of their league. If he does go out I would hope for League 1. Looks a good talent for 18.

Said earlier in the thread, it seems he was meant be going on loan but I've a feeling, based on nothing, that Lampard might keep him around.

I'd love to see it. Probably looking at moving someone like Allen on if that ends up happening.

Rapha nowhere near as bad as some were making out, but based on that showing do not think he's near the level yet (the level being a top 6 championship team looking to get promoted). He needs confidence in the english game because for everything that looked mildly good a dynamic (like his ball in for the OG), there was also a bunch of really laboured wing play where he looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet.

He along with Bassette need loans. We obviously need to sort out incomings first though so we don't leave ourselves short.

Left on the whistle. Very lucky. TBH you’d have struggled to get there. Before it closed. The last lane was about to be cordoned off. Drop-offs done and home by 10:55.

Night closures are a British Standard. It’s far more unlikely to have a clear route home at night.

And those who claim he never plays very good long balls into dangerous areas. Passed another perfectly to the right which we should have done better with.

Spot on. He can play a bit but he’s not at all what we need out there. No better than Tavares. And like Tavares, it will do him no good just to sit on our bench now and again - get the boy out on loan.

Yeah have to agree with this. Same with Andrews, all well and good him being in 'the squad' but if they're never going to be trusted, even in the last desperate 5 mins, then there really is no point them being sat on the bench, especially when a loan can be so beneficial.

Enjoyable game. Impressed by Brau and by Rapha. KKH looked pretty good too.

Most amusing part of the night was all the players on the bench trying to find the toilet in the stands.

Countless times whilst being on through night call outs and hours from my destination (given that my company had to respond within a certain time frame or face a penalty) would I find myself diverted off a motorway and have no idea when I would arrive on site.
So glad I'm retired now and some other poor devils have to deal with it.

Yeah, we did the KFC - mistake, had indigestion all the way home - had to go off the M5 as well, added a good half an hour to the journey we got back at 11.35.

Happens every time we go away midweek. Regardless of the location. Worst was Blackburn a couple of years back (when Wilson scored). Due to closures and diversions (and an accident along the diversion route) we didn't get back until after 3am. Nightmare.

He needs to go permanently, we can't carry him when we finalise our squad.
As you pointed out, if Tavares wasn't good enough, then there's no chance for Rapha.

Based on the small cameo appearances hes had upto now, and the fact that hes 22 in 6 weeks time and looked lightyears behind 18 year old Kai Andrews, , and he hasn't made the bench when everyone's available, and didn't stand out against a League 2 side who wernt being too physical in a friendly match,
and the fact that you'd play other wingers on the wrong side, and push wingbacks further forward and even play strikers on the wing before playing Rapha. .... you have to ask. "what's the point in keeping him around?"

Move him on and free up a squad place.

On what evidence youve seen is he lightyears behind Andrews on current ability?

And don't start saying "well Andrews is only 18 etc..." I'm talking about what they bring at this point in time.

Because its not very good for morale if players are frozen out.
