I think it's very unfair and counterproductive to have a go at him. We don't know what happened behind the scenes - he may have been given an ultimatum that he goes to Wigan or sits on the bench for the U23s all season.

Exactly, he was even telling the fans directly he was coming back.

What's all that about?

My mate at Wolves says he's crazy. I guess he just doesn't see what he's doing. Needs some social media training

I feel the same about Bright as I do about Bayliss. Lovely player to watch but in terms of getting out of League 1, a more functional player like Allen, or a loanee defensive midfielder to free up Kelly is more important. We need players who boss the show, neither Bright or Bayliss did that. Bright's goals made the push for a play off spot possible last year, particularly the one at Accrington, but he remains a bit of an indulgence; a fancy-Dan.

The sides that gave us a hard time, like Luton, had physical size / presence - that is more important than silky skills, at this level anyway

If we had him for the whole of last season without a doubt we would of made play offs

Undoubtably Bright has potential. He was a delight to watch in the final third but he needs to learn that he cannot showboat outside his own penalty area. If not he will get caught out by Championship forwards. I wish him all the best but we really do need to move on. Hopefully NR has another unknown talent lined up. Let’s face it this time last year none of us had heard of Bright.

It's amazing how many people take it personally that a player doesn't want to come to us. Bright crazy? People's reactions are crazy.

I'd rather have a couple of the Allen type any day. particularly if one was about 6' 2" who frightened the shit out the opposition just by looking at them. Can't remember which game it was, but we bossed the first 2-3 minutes with Bright looking very good, then we were bullied for the next 87.

I think What gets some people is the fact of all the social media stuff he was doing & the fact he’s got this new contract & move on the back of us if he didn’t come in and do well under robins trust he probably would of been released now.

Was disappointed last week when we sold Bayliss and lost out on Taylor but then the victory first game and signing of Godden has lifted the spirits.

Would have obviously loved Bright here but I'm sure MR has other targets in mind. He's slowly building a very good team here. Allen, Kastaneer, Jobello and Godden are all players Im very much looking forward to watch them play. There is more to come for sure and at least on-field - Exciting times ahead!

It wasn`t just his choice. Wolves had the biggest say on where he went. They wanted him playing in the Championship.

I'd love to have had him back but I've got no ill-will towards the guy for going elsewhere. He was brought in to do a job for us last season and did it really well, but after that it was his choice to look elsewhere.

I agree his hints towards staying with us were completely unnecessary, but there was a chance he maybe did think that was the case for a while until other clubs/agents/management got involved. You never know. Wish him the best.

Seriously? We signed him on loan to do a job, he did it well - both sides benefitted. He doesn't owe us the rest of his career.

Personally I’m glad this is over and put to bed.
Would of welcomed and been excited by his return but the loan did what he and us hoped of his spell here.

I’m sure the loan to Wigan came as no surprise to MR like others here and has irons in the fire elsewhere should he have the budget and feel he can move in the market be it a transfer or loan

I've only seen Allen against Liverpool u23s and playing against us so I'm not ready to judge him yet. You've clearly seen him play plenty of times.

Burton at home last season, was watching with my dad and Allen ran the show! We kept saying how much we hated him cause of how well he played bullying our midfield

I think that's generally true regarding Wolves. But there have been times when it perhaps wasn't the case, certainly if we are basing it on attendances. Their bad spell in the 80s really was bad. I've never understood how it was possible for them to be getting league gates of 2000 given their stature and history. But yeah, Wolves have a massive catchment area and a rich history. We're light years apart at the moment.

I agree that over the course of their whole history Wolves are probably a bigger club than us.

But the catchment area? We're a larger city, we're both about the same distance from Birmingham but between them they've got West Brom and Walsall. We've got Nuneaton, Bedworth and Solihull.
In other directions they've not got 'competition' until the likes of Shrewsbury, Kidderminster and Stoke, but for us apart from Leicester there's nothing until Northampton and Oxford apart from clubs like Warwick and Leamington.

So I'd say our potential catchment area is much larger.

It isn't even close really. The Black Country conurbation has a population bigger than that of Birmingham. It is huge, and Wolves draw support from way beyond the BC, out to Bridgnorth and Telford and up to Stafford. City population is meaningless in this context. It isn't very scientific, but look at the shaded areas on a map, the BC is one huge sprawl that goes on and on. Yes, they share this with West Brom, but it is a massive area.

Hope we get the same output from him then. I'd still like a creative player like Bright ahead of him and Kelly in a midfield 3. Only so much magic Robins can do though

Maybe Wigan offered to pay all his wages, as well as playing him at a higher level and in front of bigger crowds.
