Yes but it isn't much better calculating what results and points we need to get in the play offs, rather than calculating how many points we need to be safe from relegation like past seasons.

Yep.

If we can finish the season on a high now it should then bring some positivity into the new season and the slump will not be half as painful as it appeared it was going to be. A contiunal slide done the table would have done tremendous damage I reckon.

Just got in and buzzing. Solid performance tonight. Nothing exceptionally classy (the goal aside) but solid and we were rewarded with the points. RCC man of the match for me.

Sorry? I've said a couple of players are. Mowbray says he can't understand what went wrong in those 10 weeks. Are you reassured by that? I'm not. It's a huge failure for him not to have git the club in the top six. He said "oh well" sorry I'm not happy about it. It's not acceptable it's an opportunity blown and it's not good enough.

So let's sack him, right? Tbh I wanted him gone during the shocker of a run. But seriously what good will it do us to keep chopping managers. History tells us, not much. I say get behind him for next season and let's have a real go at getting out of this horseshit league.

Nt letting myself get my hopes up. Just going into the last remaining games expecting a point as a minimum.

Even if we finish 7th, it'll be an improvement, and almost resigned to us not getting into the play offs this season.

i've probably enjoyed this season more than any since wise played for us in the championship.

The slump hurts but we've gone from nearly been relegated on the last day to hopefully finishing 8th/9th. That's progress.

It's a big improvement mate. And I'll be most disappointed if we don't get running commentary from you on all of the Euro 16 matches.

Most home wins for 10 years, overall an enjoyable season, good value for money. At the end of last season I was considering not renewing my season ticket, definitely getting one next year.

"Rubbish" rose with a tony yeboah goal lol

Overall nit a great performance but solid. We didn't have many chances but we limited them to 2 or 3

Season alive by a thread. Commiserations to the fans who wanted us to lose

Tonight you've proved that on top of being a bully, you're also more misinformed about football than we all thought.

Why's it taken until 4 games from the end of the season for us to try and succeed in a plan B? So frustrating

The reason we won't be finishing in atleast the play off slots is poor team management Grendel is bang on, the string of inept performances in Jan/Feb/March and the inability to rectify it lies at one door. In that time Mowbray brought in the likes of Ramage, Hunt and Henderson who have hardly played three matches between them, absolutely shocking, and I can't blame Waggott this time. Saying this doesn't mean I want him sacked but his and his management performance since the New Year is woeful

This is the most points we have achieved in a season for 10 years , and yes Grendel that includes Pressleys 61 points at sixfields .
We can sift through the negatives all day , but mogga is taking us in the right direction

I'd agree. He's improved so much. and thats why we need more players on permanent contracts so we get the benefit of their gaining in experience.

I asked because given your in depth and astute football knowledge and judgement of players i would have thought TM would of had you out scouting players for us now.

For the record, I think it's extremely unlikely we'll get in the playoffs now. If we'd won just one more game we could have been a bit more realistic, which is the heartbreaker. However...

Barnsley: Could only get a win against Colchester there, and lose against the others. Sheff Utd away in a Yorkshire derby and Wigan will be very tough.

Gillingham: All over the place at the moment. Should beat the Shrews (who are fighting for their lives) but the other two games are going to be hard. Could go to the Den on the last day needing a win and get psyched out.

Sheff Utd: Could win their two other games and also knock Scunthrope out the equation. As we need to win all our 3 games anyway, if we were to do that, we would trump them.

Rochdale: Easiest fixtures probably, but not the strongest team themeselves either. Can see them sneaking it potentially.

Scunthrope: See above, but a loss against Sheff Utd would take them out the way should we beat them.

At 5pm Saturday either the optimists will be locked away for the season, or we'll be starting to dream. Probably the former!

Whilst I agree it's down to team management. Those three players you have mentioned hardly played, so didn't really have an influence on the pitch. The issue was with the players he was actually picking.

Had his team selections been better, and preferential treatment not given out to individuals, we still may well be in with a shout.

That's where he needs to improve next season.

But those players shouldn't have been signed taking the places of ones who could have contributed and got us some extra points. Why were they signed ? Especially Hunt. and that's why I blame Mowbray.

Mowbray simply has to shoulder the majority of blame.

While I think TM could have done better in the last few months. Its the players that have to take the majority of the blame. It's all good blaming TM, but once the players cross the white line it is there responsibility to get a result. At points in this period, it was more about grit and mental strength of the players to grind our results stand up and they failed, rather than TM being a bad manager.

I was happy Mowbray became our manager and he has plus points and generally the club has gone up a notch or two compares to recent times, but the lack of motivation at crucial times has to be a concern, has he exceeded his sell by date ? Don't know to be honest but if it takes three months to get us going again as it has this season will that happen again ?

We had a squad that was good enough to win most of the games already, without really needing to have strengthen. Having Jim O'Brien on the bench and not using him, having Lameiras on the bench when he was shining earlier in the season. Playing Murphy when he was the worst player on the pitch game, after game, after game. Playing Ricketts every game when he has been off the pace.

Whilst we agree Mowbray should take the blame. These factors were more detrimental than signing players like Hunt, for me anyway.

I don't think it's fair to say that about a lad who has scored 10 and assisted 8 .
Not all players are moulded the same way , I rate Murphy and would gladly see him back here next season

Nah not really , Murphy's form dipped along with the teams , difference is he was made the scapegoat .
I spoke to him at Wigan down the front and he has clearly let the boo boys get to him .
