It's unfortunate as he hit the post but Haji's effort is another one where really he should be scoring, or at the very least getting it on target.

Re. your second point you say it asks more of a player but how often does a forward tend to get that much space and freedom for a header? Not sure how intentional it was, but it was a great cross as well.
eerm, surely hitting the post is getting it on target??? heading it 6 yards wide would be questioning it

Amazing. I hadn’t included this one as they hit the post as well. You also included one that I didn’t mention.

if Haji had missed the 3 chances I mentioned, you would be berating him for missing sitters.

it was a great win, and a great night at the CBS, and I’m glad they didn't take their chances, but to claim they didn’t have those great chances is nuts.
You're talking absolutely clap trap unfortunately. If we're going to have people moaning about the opposition missing sitters after a win, at least let them be sitters. These aren't sitters and I think its only you who thinks they are.

Whittaker had a header right after the start of the 2nd half that he should have buried. If Haji missed that we would be saying he missed a ‘sitter’

78th minute, Ayling shot straight at rushworth where it was easier to score. Another where if it was Haji, we’d be saying it was a sitter.

McGree 85th minute, good chance, not a sitter

88th minute, Sene, absolute sitter missed 2yds from goal, although It would have been offside.

so, 3 good chances to score, all of which we would have labelled as sitters if it was our strikers missed them.

@fernandopartridge you should take more water with it mate ;)
I know there are people who will disagree with this, but I think xG is one of the best indicators of performance, much better than possession. Our xg 1.79 - Boro xG 1.17

I think most just want to talk with Coventry fans on the Coventry board is all.
That's reasonable enough. There's plenty of them to choose from though, so I'd like to think I don't take away from that.

Some would probably think it "strange" that I'm on another team's board, which I also get as they'd have no wish to do the same. Tbh, I enjoy reading perspectives from different fan groups to form more of an unbiased opinion overall if that makes sense. Plus you discover lots of interesting quirks about other clubs that way and I'm a football fan as well as a Boro fan if that makes sense.

Obviously our own forum is almost all Boro, but there's been supporters of clubs such as yourselves, Hull, Bournemouth, Derby, (even Sunderland!) and many more off the top of my head on there before, some even becoming regular posters, which apart from a bit of light-hearted banter, the overwhelming majority of us don't mind as whilst obviously sticking up for their own clubs they conduct themselves well. You will get the odd nobhead or two of our own fans on our board that react like spoilt kids to them posting, but every club has them and they generally get shut down.

Also I'd only ever pop on here after a Boro loss or draw between our clubs, never a win for a while at least. I reason that feelings will run high after such a result, so the last thing anyone would want to see is a reminder of the opposition in the game afterwards. Tbf, there's precious little chance of a Boro win between our clubs as far as I reckon, indeed I'd celebrate a draw like us re-signing a Prime Juninho, so I'm probably safe on that score🤣

Not sure what supposedly happened last night but less than complimentary about us, on and off the pitch

I'm sure they're all innocent lovely angels who don't have a bad word to say about anyone 😇😇😇

That just reads like sulky fans whose team have just lost a big game. No biggy.

If someone's got abuse walking back to their car, though, then you can understand why they're pissed off. Can't stand that shit. Morons.

I didn't get the chance to unfortunately, working away and the bills won't pay themselves.

My brother went with his daughter mind, came in handy him living in Wolves now (you can imagine the Rov Edwards stick🤣) though he could only get tickets in the home end. They had colours covered up though and said your fans that they met were generally a pretty friendly bunch.

Having to pull in a chance that was offside anyway shows your desperation here

All fan bases are the same

We have those that cant handle a defeat and what to find anything to throw at the opposition
We all have those social media idiots
We all have those young lads who hide behind the invisible fence

Thankfully, we all have and in the majority normal/realistic and respectful fans.

I tend to join other boards in games coming up that mean something and sometimes ill stick around, sometimes i wont. I have found this a decent board with good balanced posts re our games in the past few seasons. Why i keep coming back defeat after defeat i dont know but as have said many times before, have no issues with Coventry. Still remember them as a Prem team when i was a kid and football mad, you wind Sunderland up and you have gone through the lot over the recent years.

Lets not let the odd insecure idiot fans paint a full picture of a clubs fanbase.

I see you missed the fact I only included the first 3 as chances, and not the offside one.

Oh, and I’m not desperately trying to prove it, you know, like posting images of the chances…

if people disagree that’s fine, it’s my opinion, that’s all.

Unfortunately, it happens everywhere. We go to loads of away games and 99% of the time we are left alone, but sometimes opposition fans have a go. Part of the territory. The problem is when someone like this guy labels us all "cunts" because of the actions of a small minority.

It's not an opinion, you said the following...

They had 2 clear chances 2nd half when they were through on goal and should have scored. Take your sky blue tinted glasses off.

Those 2 clear chances where they were through on goal simply don't exist.

Ah, ok, so my terminology is the issue. Do you think a player is only through on goal if he only has the keeper to beat?

you’re right, their header wasn‘t, but if all a player has to do is bend it round the keeper to score, even if there were other defenders around, I would consider him through on goal, which the other 2 chances were.

if you’ve looked at them again, would you expect Haji to score them?

Yes that is the definition of through on goal.

So you consider not being through on goal as being through on goal. I can see how we got lost in translation...

They passed it around very nicely, but created very little until they were 2-0 down. Can see that they’ve got some great players and I thought they played well tonight. I imagine they’ll finish in the mid 80s points wise.
My mate said the same. They knocked it around and generally looked very good, I think we got lucky a few times as we did get played through a bit but nothing like we have been in the two months.

In comparison I thought we looked sharp, lovely incisive play , we got forward with real intent.

Also the Boro CBs could not deal with anything over their heads, hopefully we have set the blue print for anyone else playing them and they get pumped for the rest of the season

yes, the Sterlec one, there's 3 or 4 city players back so how is that through on goal?
