How much will it be on the train if can't get on a coach to Bolton ?

I'd say at least £50 for an open ticket. Your best bet is to get two returns a Cov - Stafford / Stafford - Manchester. Then get a return to Bolton. You might be able to get it under £40.

The club will have coaches prepared and all the normal providers i.e SBA will no doubt be on it?

Coach tickets are on sale for the game: Bolton Wanderers v Coventry City | Ricoh Arena Official Parking Off-site

If you buy one now and game is off then you'll get a refund, but if game is called on at last minute I'm sure they'll put a coach on.

No, you have to buy a senior railcard.

That said, you can use the local trains free within the West Midlands, i think up to Wolverhampton. £34.75 for a Wolves to Manchester return.

I live in Manchester and often get trains back and forth from Cov. Going via Warrington tends to be cheaper (a small walk between stations in warrington but nothing mad).

Just had a quick look;
Cov 9:47 > Horwich Parkway (next to Bolton ground) 12:59
Horwich Parkway 17:46 > Cov 20:24
Is £37 or £33 if you left Cov at 8:47 and came back same time.
Not sure if thats split at Warrington or Trafford.

Can play round with times to suit though.

They should be made to play or forfeit the points, why should they get to postpone the game and then improve the team and play us later.

Any chance it'll be played behind closed doors if they're not in a position to pay stewards/catering/policing/ticketing staff etc.

My link above is from www.TrainSplit.com - Journey Planner it will just do the price by single tickets combined rather than overall journey, tends to be cheaper.

Kind of like fernandopartridge mentioned here

It should either go ahead, behind closed doors or not, or the 3 points should be given to us. No way should they be able play a game one week then postpone the next just because they're not ready.

We won't take more than 1000. Real shame as it could have been 3x that.

The ground is a long way out of town. Believe the local station to the ground is Horwich Parkway.

Yeah I live up here as well. Pretty good that, never thought of going via Warrington. The Stafford split means you can stay on one train mind.
