3 years - heard yesterday for the first time (well to me anyhow)

In 3 years if Wasps haven't gone bust, then that's plenty of time for us to be back in the Championship. At that point we may attract a bid from someone wealthy. It is probably long enough for the legals to have ended. Either way, there is the likelihood of a long term deal back at the Ricoh whether new owners or not. There will also be the possibility that SISU will say a deal is close and gain a further extension.

A season we can cope with, longer term we're missing new support etc and the longer the exile, the worse it becomes, yet what that interview told me, is that we're staying at SA for 3 years, so get used to it.

There will be no mythical stadium, it's a bargaining tool and nothing else. People need to get it out of their head, however nice the visuals of Highfield Road2 might be, it's not going to happen.

Basically we're no further forward and nothings changed. Wasps position is the same, and we all know unless that changes a Ricoh return isn't happening and Fisher is making vague comments about a new stadium. Why when Fisher talks about a new stadium and looking for a site does nobody ask what is going on with Woodlands? Has there been a response from the council, is that off the table now etc.

It’s not difficult is it.

“Tim, where are you with your preferred site at woodlands. Is the hold up your end or the councils ?. If it’s yours, what needs to happen to move it fwd. if it’s the councils, what aren’t they doing ?”

Agreed.

3 years isn’t a deadline, it’s the next time we get more time from them to stay away

Turn up. The Ricoh should be ours anyway.

Superstitious me. Stay at St Andrews as long as we are winning.
No point going back to The Ricoh unless there are fundamental changes in the relationship. Can't keep doing a stadium hokey cokey every few years.

Do you seriously believe that SISU will be more inclined to sell if we are more successful? They didn't even want to sell when we were in the fourth division! I think they are here for the long term, like it or not.
But i agree with the comments about needing to ask Fisher (in particular) more probing questions about the new stadium. Trish Adudu is NOT that person (and nor is anyone at CWR or TalkSpurt). Can't Les Reid get an interview? at least he's a proper journalist!

And your obviously forgetting the absurdity of the Ricoh?!?!
It's in Coventry, that is the ONLY plus side.
List pros and cons for the ricoh.

Pros.
•Its in Coventry.

Cons.
•Its owned by somebody who doesnt want us there.
•Come xmas the pitch will be shit.
•Its shit to get to for most fans unless you live in Holbrookes.
•Shit atmosphere.
•No decent boozers before the game.
•Money spent there goes direct to w**ps coffers.
•We don't own it.

Pros and Cons for St Andrews.

Pros.
•Good pitch (so far)
•No boo boys/negativity (as of yet)
•Easy to get to, plenty of free parking.
•Some decent boozers within stones throw.
•Earn bigger % on F&B sales (so I'm told).
•Good atmosphere (mentioned numerous times by MR and numerous players).
•Stadium rental agreement includes boxes/corporate (under w**ps at the Ricoh that was an extra at their discretion).
•The team and staff are made to feel welcome/wanted by BCFC and never were by w**ps.
•Longer we spend there, the less money were giving w**ps to keep them afloat.

Cons.
•Its not in Coventry.

So, other than it being in Coventry, can you give me one reason why we should be playing at the ricoh?

perhaps the people of Coventry should 'invade' Birmingham and assimilate St Andrews and the surrounding area into our city boundary. Then we can play our games in Coventry without the need to build a new stadium or lick Wasps arses. Problem solved.

That is why I think it is vitally important that we support the team/club in the meantime. The stronger we are, the weaker Wasps position becomes, and quicker a potential return (with or without the pests). If we look weak, it will strengthen Wasps resolve to break us.

Fisher did state early on in this debacle 'you do not sell at the bottom of the cycle' Although most of what he says is garbage, that bit makes sense. The Championship would be the top of any cycle (unless they took a further massive financial gamble on the PL - which they won't / couldn't with FFP)

I'm slightly surprised that being top of the league hasn't brought more people out of the woodwork and boosted the attendances at all - home following has been pretty much 5k since day one. How long until more people start going, i wonder?

Health & Safety Bulletin - Licking wasps' arses is not recommended, particularly if you have an allergy to wasp venom

Yes, that may be the case, Clint, but the asking price would then be too high for the likes of Hoffman, Elliott, et al. £7.5 mill ain't gonna do it, is it? Are there that many billionaires waiting in the wings to snap us up for a cool 50 mill the day we get promoted? Doubtful!

I don't think they would be asking for 50 million, (though I've no doubt whatever they ask will be too high).

Pathetic you’d see CCFC wither just to spite another team in a different sport TBH. Really shows that this isn’t about CCFC and just about trying to virtue signal.

They needed to pick a council owned site that didn’t have development plans, it was probably the only option.

That 3 year EFL deadline means absolutely nothing and SISU know it. They will sit tight for the duration and ensure they have some vague evidence at the end of it that shows they are trying to progress the return and then the EFL will extend it to 5 years and the cycle will repeat. People need to stop getting hung up on these numbers. All they care about is our fixtures are being played.

If you're talking about indemnifying wasps against any cost that arise from the EC complaint then I agree and that's clearly not going to happen but some clever person somewhere needs to find a solution to get round this that is acceptable to all parties - don't envy them that task.

The real debt is around £17 million - to be honest where we play now would probably not matter as wasps would welcome a Hoffman type but at a price
