Have no doubts about Grimes at all.

He is definitely not anywhere near good enough for the Premier League.

He had a torrid time today. Crap with the second balls as well. Can’t have your captain panicking like he does.

He was good apart from the crazy lunge when haaland was in 1 on 1, any contact and this thread would be completely different.

Did think that - he played very well, but as soon as he lunged, I was just waiting.....luckily missed and Rushworth did well.

Or they had 78% possession and our midfield and defence still managed to limit them to just 4 shots on target. So we must have being doing something right in that central part of the pitch.

I thought our 3 CBs played well today and Bobby was outstanding. They were solid as a unit and -considering they have never played together before - they seemed to have a good understanding between them.

With three rather than 2 CBs they can play a bit wider across the pitch and give more support to the WBs. I like MVE but his positional awareness sometimes lets him down and he can’t always rely on his pace to get him out of trouble. Dasilva is developing into a very fine player but - although obviously not his fault - his stature and physique can be problematic at times.

To limit Manchester City to one goal at their place is an achievement most teams would be proud of. If they can keep this up we have a good platform at the back and attacking wise we have Gboho and Cherif to come in and also Haji in a couple of months.

Desperate for a drink sometimes, make the state pension age before kicking the bucket, a bit of nookie on Friday night, but not to write players off. Criticise, yes, if they are not up to standard but that’s fair as they are paid well to do their job. Bobby was outstanding yesterday, and 3 at the back worked well.

I actually think I've hadn't lunged in Haaland would have got his shot away earlier and may well have scored.

Thomas has done exactly what is invaluable for a promoted team. Stepped up a level. For no cost you now have a huge asset cash wise and the feel good factor of one of your players mixing it with the best having developed with us.

Pinnock looks like a bit of a Fadz style signing, great experience, but would you want him in a 2, and if you drop him do you want that experience sat on the bench?

I think 5 at the back will be staple for all away games now. I'd be tempted to try it at home, as a) you're facing opponents who can expose the defence more at this level, and we need the solidity, and b) players will be more used to it for the away games. Hopefully we can switch systems depending on circumstances. As others have said though, we need to pick up as many points at the CBS as possible, and will need the crowd to be the 12th man.

Just shows how well we did after half time because times the first half we stood at 12%.Satisfied with everything bar the result be those will soon come

Defending has never been an issue for Bobby. It his passing ability that lets him down. He is nowhere near the level of Guehi, Konsa or Stones.

At home I'd try the three CB's, but take out one of Grimes or Onyeka for someone like Hamer so we've got that bit more creativity in midfield.

I think we may need to play 70% of our games with 5 at the back as MVE looks really vulnerable at times and giving him that extra cover makes us look a lot more assured and comfortable defending. We have also got pace to come on the counter with the the new boys

Brighton have averaged 65-70% possession in their opening matches. I'd be happy to play the same system again next weekend.

The only thing I will say is that we do really need a win sooner rather than later. Having said that we did start with 5 at the back Saturday, what I like about Frank is that he switches formation like he did in the second half and we looked more on the front foot.(Still can't quite believe I am saying that away at Man City !!)
