There is an FA Cup game against Birmingham where we gave them bigger section of the Kop. Sure we did it against Man Utd mid 80s
Jan 1981 Same season as our 'almost' experience in the league cup.
Mixture of FA cup rules regarding away team allocation and an easy one re decision making regarding policing.
Not sure about that Man U mid '80s one - I wasn't around Coventry much 1983 - 1987.

Didn't we give Blackburn the whole East Stand in May 1994 when they were going for the title?
Blackburn supporters had the end section of the Sky Blue Stand closest to the new East Stand. The new Stand was pretty well complete but not opened. Blackburn supporters draped their banners over part of the East Stand.
When the match ended City supporters invaded the pitch and what looked like charging towards the Blackburn supporters but only to shake their hands. I was in the Sky Blue Stand close to their supporters so we did the same.
Hendry played as a striker in the game.
Going back to the '70's I don't think there was much segregation, at one time there were double barrier in the west end separating supporters but all the games were cash on turnstile for the terracing. I stood on the Kop for the Forest game, I guess it might been 50-50.

Police in the centre of that double barrier, as well.

If promotion can be won that day I would expect it to reach ST only and not make general.
People wouldn’t know that when the tickets go on sale as well have a game in between.

If the game is played before our rivals we would need to have a 10 point gap to 3rd going in to it for promotion to be winnable. It feels unlikely.

Im hearing Friday night too

Which i fully dont understand btw. If Sky want a potential promotion game, then surely they have Ipswich Boro the Friday night, as that result could potentially say whether or not we could do it at Blackburn no??

Now I'm bound to be able to get a ticket.

I imagine a lot of people will be booking that Friday off work now.

We cant get promoted there now anyway, with Ipswich Boro 2 days later. They needed to have played first and us know the result to have had any chance of Blackburn being promotion if that makes sense.

After Blackburn there is 9 points left to play for
Because Ipswich would have 15 points and Boro would have 12 points to play for playing after us, we would need to be 13/16 points clear of both of them to go up after the Blackburn game

Which aint gonna happen

Pompey H it is then for the party......

Pompey play on Tuesday vs Ipswich before our game on friday (re arranged game) then on Saturday.

So we will get an extra nights rest before we play pompey on Tuesday.

They have proper fixture congestion.

Our game Friday night, with Boro Ipswich Sunday is mental

Surely those at Sky with any sense would have had that the other way around???

They were never going to put us Sunday. We are playing Tuesday 21st vs Pompey and Blackburn are playing Wed 22nd. Sky had nothing on the Friday night or Sat lunch but Liverpool v Everton and Man City v Arsenal already on the Sunday 19th.

I might go for it anyway. Even if it isn't THE game then it should still be a big party. Hopefully it makes general otherwise I'm on the beg again.

It will be annoying if Ipswich Boro confirms our promotion and we're not there. Just make Pompey the party then I suppose.
