I'm still not having it that were playing really badly right now. Some people just can't see past the results
We definitely arent controlling games or creating chances like we were earlier in the year. We really had a strangle hold on games whereas now we’re not.
Bristol, Swansea, Ipswich and Charlton all felt like we werent “in control” of the game

Great time to play them before they sack Davies. Our form has been wobbly but with mitigating circumstances. Brum have took 3 points from the last 7 matches so nothing to fear here.

I think it’s nerves mate. I dunno about you (or everyone else for that matter) but this success/promotion challenging business is bloody nerve wracking.
I was much more nervous about playing crap while hovering above the bottom 3 than I am about this scenario. Funnily enough the people convinced we would be fine back then are the same convincing themselves we’re about to throw this position away.

We are of course forgetting Grimes who looks about dead on his legs and needs help in midfield, god forbid we put Allen in the starting line up again, thats not a slur against Allen either ..well not an intentional one, over to you Eccles !
Andrew's time, get on with it, perfect game!!

We’ve been avoiding relegation all my life. Never been top of the league for the majority of the season before. L1 it was over before we got the chance to worry (also we looked more dominant in games than we have this season then tbf).

I was trying to think about when we were in the top flight and how nervous I was. It was definitely bad.
I remember almost feeling relieved after we lost to the Villa.

It's like a board game or puzzle, we are missing some of the elements, or pieces, so we can't finish the puzzle. I refer to Asante, Da Silva, Saka, Torp, Thomas, they function better together, and our issues have been we miss the enthusiasm of Asante. I know he is not everyone's cup of tea but he is FL pressing game, and without him we are missing a link. If we are looking to bring in someone we need that front pusher, they don't have to be skillful they just need to be in your face, and Rudoni cannot play that role.

The table tonight will be interesting.

Birmingham v Coventry
Hull v Watford
Middlesbrough v Southampton
Portsmouth v Ipswich
Preston v Bristol City

That covers the top 3rd of the table other than Millwall. Prefer our game to any of our rivals.

We have looked dominant in quite a few games. The issue in the past month has been a combination of tough fixtures and illness ripping through the squad. Both are now at an end.

I still can’t shake the awful feeling I have about this game. Early kick off against a team out of sorts, they will raise their game and we have been poor since the Southampton game

It’s absolutely pathetic for a man of my age, but our performances have a real impact on my mood for at least 24 hours.

It was so much easier when we were shit; expecting defeat, or a plucky draw at best, with the occasional shock success.

However, the faint whiff of success has now become my baseline, so any sub-standard performance really grinds my gears.

Can’t wait to be back in the Prem, so we can go back to City being the plucky underdog and expecting defeat.

Anyway: 2-1 win today (for the sake of my wife and kids) 😂

We’ve got this I reckon, today’s the day we start to put the iffy form behind us.

Rudi, Saka, JDS and EMC back in for Haji, Allen, KKH and Joel.

2-0 winners.
