I always rated Gunnar, Turner and Juke and never bought into the "they're shit anyway, we don't need them" attitude that quite a few posters had.

Exactly. I was as livid about the sale of Turner as the loss of King, probably more so as Ben didn't particularly want to go, had signed a new deal, and could have been sold after 6 months of games for a lot more. Selling him as he returned from injury was selling him at his lowest ebb, and he'd reach probably double what we got for him now, if not more. Short sighted and money-grabbing = poor football business sense.

More to the point, SISU were saying at the time that there was already money and wages available to Thorn, that he didn't need to sell..the Le Fondre impasse proved that wasn't the case, but it is what they said. Easy to forget all those lies given how many there have been since.

Ever thought maybe le fondre just fancied going to Reading instead?
We all know about sisu but not everything can be put down to them (we will never know the truth about what goes on) but players can go to other clubs, that may look better than playing for cov.

Yes he did, but we didn't even make the asking price. In fact our bid was labelled a joke by the Rotherham chairman.

Yep. I think by the end of his City career most could see that he was establishing the potential some of us didn't write him off because of. He's good enough to play in the Premiership in future and I'd have said the same both before and immediately after he left.

I'm a big fan of his and am not ashamed to say I celebrated his goal yesterday almost like a City goal. Please note the word almost as I don't have the bold font option on my phone.

Blaming SISU is sooooooo 2011 - it's all about Andy Thorn these days.

Don't bother thinking it through - just blame him

No it's about sisu and their appalling treatment and contempt for fans including the sisu appointment of Andy thorn or are you behind sisu on this one?

How did he 'prefer' McPake? You say some strange things to slag off Thorn. Why the wierd over the top agenda?

Well done. For the only time in my adult life I am rendered speechless and the irony is you will not even see why. They say political parties implode after too long in power but I just look at the insanity at some of this and can see why it happens.

Turner was truly outstanding....not sure about Gunnarson though. He looked fucked after an hour and apart from running around to close down showed nothing ability wise.

At least I now know you're main intention is to wind people up. I did for a while think you were serious.

I too celebrated the Turner goal as if he still played for us for some reason. I half expected when he took off his shirt to expose a City one, but sadly NO

Gunnerson played his heart out, and did play well. Turner was immense all match.

No need to be bitter.

Are we not allowed to take some pride from the fact that we discovered and subsequently developed him?

What about Jermaine Grandson then? Played well tonight against Crawley. Anyone shuffling over that? Why is it our fans seem to support our ex-players more than our current ones?

A bit of a silly reply there fella and no need to call anyone an Arsehole

The situation and the fact is still the same. Good luck to him, I do not feel bitter it is life. I really could not care less.

Calm down lads. There really is no need for name calling. We are all on the same side here. The fact is we all see things differently, hence this forum.

Its not really supporting them, its taking joy in seing some players who were good for us and left amicably, have success. It's the closest we are going to get to success for a while, might aswell enjoy it!

You can see why he'd be well liked by our fans after leaving the club. Nice down to earth lad who has a good work ethic and gets on with the job professionally. His departure was out of his hands and he had nothing but nice things to say about his time here and sympathy for our fans.

Coleman said after cup final yesterday that Turner deserves everything he gets in the game as he's one of the nicest people you'll meet so fair play I say.

At this point I couldn't blame anyone for leaving our club even if it's of their own accord. Players like Turner deserve better.

Rather odd our fantastic manager hasn't been poached. I am sure SISU would let him go. Why not do you think?

Because there are more experienced managers available. You remember, the ones that aren't available to us?

I'd like to see Ben Turner succeed in his football career. I'd like us to stay up and improve. I manage the two without my brain exploding.

What has suddely turned to make people bitch about every little thing here?

ccfc have produced / nurtured many players through the years,
one abiding principle remains, & that surely is, that the player will get to show his ability way before the time he would get at a bigger club,
it's not only ccfc tho' clubs will be open to cherry picking,
maybe at fault is the abysmal way in which clubs are poorly rewarded for producing talent,
maybe also the clubs don't control or maximise potential,
maybe also that too many clubs are run by people who know zip about football,
just occasionally young footballers show a level of trust & maturity beyond their years,
to any young pro in the game,
is your head easily turned ?
for ccfc i hope our talent will be TRUE SKY BLUE,

PUSB
