Finally got around to watching Monos, a foreign language film from a few years back. Very powerful film about child soldiers in the Amazon. Lord of the flies and Apocalypse Now vibes. Definitely recommend

Just finished Furious.

As you say, it`s very good.

I thought it was really clever ( and brave ), the way the investigation centred around a young female serial killer, who was wreaking revenge for the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of wealthy powerful men and who was investigated by a female FBI agent, who was the victim of domestic violence herself and who was incredibly damaged herself as a result.

Some really funny black humour running through it too, quite a tough watch in parts though.

Scoot McNair in support to the lead was excellent, as always.

It`s one I can see being a word of mouth hit.

The characters were very strong too. Catherine, Alice, Danny and Nora.

All had depth, which was nice to see.

The writing was excellent, as was the casting.

Even though the young serial killer was totally mad, you really sympathised with her, as you understood what had driven her to madness and murder and in the end you found yourself wanting to succeed in her quest.

Nice to see something straying away from the usual " serial killer v Detective " tropes too.

I`ve recently started Gomorrah Origins, the prequel to the outstanding Italian language Mafia series, Gomorrah.

It`s not doing it for me, but I`ll finish it, as it`s only six episodes.

It feels like a vanity project to me.

One problem with Netflix and the other streamers are the amount of shows they abandon. What's the point of getting into something only to find it was cancelled?

Great reviews, by all accounts great viewing figures so cancelled after one season. The show ended up an Amazon after they won a bidding war as it was in high demand.
