Pearce was good Otis, but he really became the player we acknowledge after he left us and was tutored by Clough/Taylor. I still wouldn't put him ahead of the former villa player I'm thinking of who got dogs loads when he came back with his new club because of the way he left.

I thought Pearce was a much better left back than McDonald.

McDonald was fantastic going forwards, but not as strong a defender. Pearce was raw round the edges, but he was putting players into the terraces and stands and was doing it with crunching, but fair tackles.

I loved Bobby Mac when he was here, but for me Pearce eclipsed him.

It's pretty obvious that all of these opinions depend on the age of the forum poster. I'm not even sure that you can compare players from different eras anyway, the game has changed so much over the years.

Yes, that's why we're voting by the decade we started following the club. It will be interesting to see how the different generations vote. Every decade voted for a different GK. The RB however is looking like a landslide victory for Nilsson across the board.

Okay.

Had you down as in your late forties, NW.

Guess it's because you seemed to be posting on GMK for about 25 years.

How old were you when you first posted, 9 1/2?

Perhaps haven't read thread properly if you want best players of the decade I started supporting City which was the 60s I would have to replace Roland Nilssan with Mick Coop but it will be difficult to gat an all time XI from one decade although I would say a number of our best ever players were in the 60s imo

Don't think he wants that RB. He just wants your top rated player for each position, but then also wants to know the decade you first started watching.

No. Best player you have ever seen. The decade is so we can see how different generations are voting.

My vote goes to Roland Nilsson, a quality player. Graham Oakey also deserves a mention, along with Mick Coop and Brian Borrows.
