This is the point I was trying to make; if Turner makes an impact, his short loan will ultimately disrupt the team, in theory anyway. Still, one must have faith that TM knows what he's doing.

He doesn't have to be. A fit Ben Turner of that quality would easily be the best player in our side. Well above L1 quality.

Couldn't of imagined that 6 years ago when he was Ben 'one mistake a game' Turner, fair play to the lad for really kicking on!

Great signing just concerned its a 30 day stop gap then what happens after that? Really think we need someone in on the books not just loan

We are only the league below Cardiff (and we're top of it). Posters on here make it sound like we're playing at an amateur level. Lack of match fitness shows at every level, look at Cole for example.

Hopefully the reserve games he's played will stand him in good stead.

A Division below Cardiff? Yes. But how often do we hear about it being a big jump between the Championship and our level. It is either a big difference or not.

Use Cole as an example? He is at an age where midfielders retire because they can't keep their fitness levels up. And he is coming back from a bad injury which makes it worse. Turner should be at his peak age for a player. Peak fitness and experienced. So not the same. And he can keep to defending without attacking until he gets his fitness back. A midfielder is in play most of the time as is in the middle of the park.

If Turner ends up being shit I will hold my hand up and say I was wrong. But I can see any move being good for CCFC, CCFC and Turner. He is just the player we need. And who better can we afford that would be willing to come to us?

He'll have lost half a yard after injury.

As an aside, it's why we need to give the linkes of Finch, Phillips etc. the chance to prove us wrong. Players can change, for both better and worse.

(I'm in the 'not convinced it's a good idea to get loans in short-term so they get fit' camp meself. We shall see though. Effectively *this* Ben Turner is not the same one that left... for better or worse.)

Length of loan will be interesting - I assume it'll be a 30 day loan but if we could push it to January 1st/3rd then there is likely to be more options of players looking to move on during the window.

Look forward to having him back - and in the nicest sense possible if he does pick up a knock then it's Cardiff's problem and we're back to where we've been for the past 3 league games.. Which we've won all of.

If indeed he's only here for a month or two, it's somewhat pointless...unless he doesn't perform or re-injures himself after that severe surgery.

No pointless if he's the best out there we can get at the moment.

2 months is fine as long as we then get someone else in the January window.

was never a huge fan when he was with us because he was a walking calamity, a bit like jordan clarke. but no doubt when he was on it he was brilliant

and when he went cardiff it looks like he became more cosnsitent so over the moon if this happens

Agree. I was certainly never convinced with Turner who always seemed a heartbeat away from making a massive defensive error, but he's done alright for himself so we'll see, eh.

Could never understand how people picked up on every small mistake Turner made yet became blind to those eqaully poor decisions made by one Elliott Ward. Somehow they never noticed the fancy footwork that almost always ended up gifting the ball to the opposition in his own penalty area. Anyway Turner has proved himself to be a top end of the championship, lowrr end premiership defender and will be more than good enough for league 1.

Turners contract runs out at the end of the season.

Hopefully we can get him here until January if he is fit. He will be very effective at this level. If Cardiff aim to retain him there is every possibility we could get him to the end of the season.

He's a better player than Johnson so it would be a huge bonus.

He's requested a loan move and also Barnsley have now expressed interest. Can still see him coming here.

'Trialist' starting at centre half for the U21 game - wouldn't be surprised if it's Big Ben getting another 45 mins under his belt?

Would he be allowed if he is contracted to another club?

Unless he's already signed on loan and just hasn't been announced yet?

Jackson from Middlesbrough did I think, before signing on loan officially?

I asked the question of Andy Turner on Twitter, they seem to think it's a right back. Apologies for jumping the gun with centre half!

I agree

Your local team that made you pro flying high that needs a defender or a struggling northern team that can't buy a win

But that should be fine for dealing with that big lummock Hansen away at Bradford in the near future. First thing I thought of when I heard he might be signing !!

Turner broke into the team as a young player who played okay yet was prone to 1 awful mistake per game, yet turned himself into a very good player whilst here, which obviously bypassed you, and was why Cardiff paid money for him and as many have said, they got a bargain.

You best stick to train spotting not players

Getting turner back for a spell is a great shout. Slot straight in and boosts us with Reda being out. Hope it gets sealed.

Why is everyone talking like he has already signed, I've yet to see it confirmed only CT have heard........

If I'm wrong and it's done, that's fine by me
