You talk about him like he’s some academy kid, but he was signed for a substantial fee - more than Torp, Sakamoto or Thomas - and he hasn’t delivered on it. I know he’s a young player and he has a lot to learn, but if you spend £2.5 million on a player in the Championship then you should expect them to contribute and Norm never has.

Personally with the lack of cover we have in forward positions I would have kept him around.

Despite that, its clear that Lampard wanted him gone as he really struggled to cope with his personality.

If he leaves us and does really well then the blame will land squarely on Lampards Head

Frank also has history of falling out with players , doucoure at Everton who was an influential player too .. as soon as frank left he came back in and played well

Yes he seems to run a very strict ship, his man management for those he doesn't love seems very interesting to say the least.

He's also bought players who were previously seen as bad influences back into the equation, see Kitching. It's not his group, he didn't like Bassette so he's off. It's really not that controversial.

There is nothing wrong with spending decent money to bring a player in with huge potential to develop further.

Belgium clearly have him earmarked as a future potential talent , just because lampard couldn't develop the lad or they had a falling out doesn't change that .

We've done alright with our development recently haven't we? Some players can only be developed so much as they aren't good enough, which would be a recruitment issue. This happens at every club and i actually think we recruit ok. Alternatively they just don't like his attitude which seems to be more the case, in which case its only going to end one way.

I dont think bassette has been moved on because of his ability though , seems fairly obvious to me he's fell out with frank
