It matters to some as the said ex-player was held in God like reverence.

More of a Humanist myself, so perhaps that explains my more balanced view of the ex-player Baker and his achievements at our club.

Baker was a major disappointment for us considering he was signed as a Championship player.

I thought Turner got sold when Boothroyd was in charge?

When people talk about "how low we have fallen" - the most telling element is how a league one journeyman who wouldn't have played in 95% of the teams we've had in the last 40 years is held up as a great player.

No, it was Thorn for who sold him to fund the signing of Mcdonald.

Fair assessment. A lot of it comes down to him being active on social media, which obviously impresses those who share half a brain cell.

Immature behaviour from a couple of Sunday league players

It certainly coincided with him putting posts on Facebook then taking them down. Which wasn't very professional to say the least. I can't remember what the posts were but they equally could have passed off SP or indeed our owners.

I have no proof but I feel it had a big part to play.

The one that made me frown was the Rory Donnelly loan that never was when he went home after 1 day, "He didn't fancy it".

Turns out Donnelly is not a bad player after all... so I suspect there is more to it than that.

Pressley was a grade A c-unit, Fleetwood players will find that out too.

Well, I didn't say Boothroyd or Thorn sold him, so I'm not sure what you're correcting?

He got injured when boothroyd was here, was top scorer at the time IIRC. We missed out on Le Fondre as we didn't have the cash at the time he went to reading for about £350k I think, we sold turner then bought Cody for c£500k. Cody was poor signing.

He had a good season for us and MK Dons in L1, not so much in the Championship. Problem was we were probably paying Championship wages. That said the way SP treated him and the other bomb squad players was not very professional to say the least.

The attitude of our squad had stank for years and was on public display in a sports gym open to the public. Ex players even commented on the lack of discipline behind the scenes.

I was quite pleased to SP try and get a grip of it, something definitely needed doing.

The truth behind Donnelly going back was Swansea sacked the manager. He felt he might get in the Swansea team and wanted to impress the new boss.....nothing to do with didn't fancy it.

I actually agree with you with regards to the attitude and discipline of the squad; I dread to think what it was like under Thorn.

I said approx 2 months before Ben Turner officially left Coventry for Cardiff that he wouldn't pull on a City shirt again, yet Thorn was stating about a week before Cody McDonald came in that Turner was only about 1 week away from playing in the team again. Does that sound like he was the one that wanted to sell him when we were struggling like f**k without him??? Of course "Sick Boy" knows for a fact that Thorn wanted to sell him... Make up your own minds.

Well he did sell him? Next you'll be claiming the funds of the sale were sent to the Cayman Islands.

Especially after his Wimbledon days, I'm sure he would have fostered a 'one of the lads' persona, the players then took the piss. One of the reasons why Robins was a good appointment as he had the personality to get a hold on the dressing room.
