Missed chance could have told them to sit down shut up

Seen a few like this from Reading fans. Yesterday was as good as it has been this season, perhaps QPR aside and better than all but 2 or 3 last season. Felt the stand physically shake a couple of times.

Still, nothing has yet to top Peterborough at home last season on the Friday night. That's probably the best ever at the stadium.

That's definitely in the top 5. Ricoh return would be in there too.

The tiresome STAND UP IF YOU LOVE CITY was back after a long absence too. I thought we had grown up from that one.

Something had to be done to try and get the North Stand to stand up.

That's become the new 'Quiet' end of the ground. Even the halfway line blocks of the East Stand and the corporate seats are noisy now. Looking over at the West Stand and it was bouncing at times.

That stand has always been deathly quiet, nothing new about that. Even when it was the Telegraph stand it was just a half hearted PUSB and Sky Blue Army once a game.

It’s now the holding pen for twice a seasons.

It was great to see it full but they didn’t seem to know any songs other than the Sky Blue Song which was a bit of a tell.

“You’re not singing any more” did quite well.

The problem is people are too scattered because the singing blocks are full, so you get random who try and sing who then realise they’re the only one in their block and shut up again.

The distance doesn’t help either. Needs a solid block behind the goal starting chants really.

I sit in the telegraph even though my ST is in 16.
On the rare occasion the stand gets going invariably the atmosphere gets talked about as one of the best we've had at the CBS.
The problem is, it happens very infrequently, and yes, I'm part of the malaise!
It's not quite true to say its full ofpart timers, there a decent amount of regulars in there.

I'll be returning to block 16 for the Blues game. My uncle's coming again but I've bought him a ticket by himself in the north stand, it's a great view but I want the atmosphere back.

Will be funny if they open up Block 13 for general sale.

So called 'part timers' being sat in the corner

Morning CVD! I’d probably say that is because the rest of the ground, led by the corner, is rocking - waking the Telegraph stand up. The noise doesn’t travel well from the corner to the telegraph or vice versa IMO.

There will be regulars in the North Stand with families which is fairenough but I think the majority of noise makers will always want to migrate to 14-18 as soon as the chance arises.

Plenty singing in the North Stand. From that end, the corner doesn't sound loud. Noise doesn't carry from end to end.

Yeah, people who want to sing will head up that way. It's interesting you quote up to block 18, that wasn't the case when I was sitting in my actual seat in 16, it probably stopped around 16-17 so good that its spreading.

Someone mentioned the atmosphere last season against Peterborough as being one of the best and the Telegraph was rocking that night.

If it gets going I'll join in, if it doesn't then I'm fine with that.
It's weird, because away I don't shut up and generally my throats in tatters the next day.

Tend to agree with this. Was pretty good today but still don’t think we’ve been as loud as some games last season although QPR before the World Cup break was pretty loud. Also that attendance figure was bullshit No way another 9,000 could have fitted in the ground.

I still don't get what drives people to run on the pitch at a time like that but the cheer when he got rugby tackled was louder than some goals in League 2.

To be fair, our drummer is fabulous for the corner , hasn’t he got a mate who could chivvy up the North Stand. People would respond I’m sure.

You touched a nerve….

Must admit, it’s embarrassing. I pay my money, then some non tells me to stand up if I love city? Why? Don’t get it. Anywy, I find myself standing up out of due reverence to the sods who started it.
And another thing…Why do some club’s fans turn their backs and jump up and down with their arms over each other. What is the point?
Some stupid things go on after goals, on the pitch as well. Marcus Rashford‘s dull/muted celebration is naff.

Worst atmosphere for years up there last night and thats not an exaggeration. Yes the football being shit is a large part but is there anything else contributing do we feel?
