Atmosphere again (10 Viewers)

I watched the game vs Leicester and it was honestly such a shit game of football, I don't doubt they are better than what we saw last night, but last night they were indeed awful. It could've been 6 or 7
The Leicester game they looked committed but limited.

That's what you have to do in their position, though; that's what we did towards the end of our first season back. Fuck pretty football, just give it everything you've got.

Almost lost my voice, block 15 was decent for the most part but disappointed with the lack of effort from large parts around us. I don't get why people go for the corner when they've no intention of joining in.

Didn't let it bother me though, was in far too much of a good mood for that.

Second half after the goals went in, it was great.

The atmosphere at games tends to ramp up when there's a feeling of jeopardy about the outcome. There was no such jeopardy last night. I have never felt so calm watching us play, which was a bit weird. Still can't believe we've wrapped up the title with 2 games to play. I always thought if we ever got in this position it would go right down to the wire.
Preston at home confirmed it in my mind, can't remember Frank said in relation to this, think it was later for him?

The atmosphere was fine. It’s always going to be noisier if it’s a tight game with loads on it. That’s just how it is. When you’re coasting at the top and the opposition are throwing the ball in the net for you your not going to be so vocal

It was nervy as expected but when it went to 2-0 it was just a party. By the 5th everybody was in full celebration anyway.

Their fans were celebrating Leicester's result while we did.

My first time in block 15. I was row behind the drummer, about 10 seats to the right if looking from the pitch.

I thought the atmosphere was great last night.

Agree with your point about people being there and not singing. Just watching back my videos from last night though and my singing as f&£king awful....should've been quiet!

I'll be about 10 rows in front of you.

NEVER listen to yourself :ROFLMAO: I hate when I see videos and I hear myself. You're not alone in being awful! I think though, if we're than bad, everyone join in and drown us out!

They already couldn't be caught by Leicester, it was the Oxford result that guaranteed their safety.

Yeah said on here after Preston we’d won the title with the other results going our way as well.

Frank said he knew after Swansea we were up ( we were all probably a little less confident!)
Once we beat Derby it was done. People on here still thought we'd need 90+ points. There was no way two teams were getting more than 84/85 points, especially as the chasers all had to play each other.

Back to the atmosphere, poor first half, great second half. I don't buy the nervous excuse. Why would you be nervous in our position? Its not like we are neck and neck with the chasers.

People keep making excuses for the atmosphere but it has been noticeably worse this season. Even singers corner goes quiet for large periods. The drummer seems to disappear.

I said it was done as soon as we got to 83 points meaning we could have lost our last 6 games and still gone up. Still think it will play out that way.

I think on the whole the atmosphere this season has been pretty awful considering how well we’ve been doing. Away from home we’ve been decent maybe 4 or 5 times. I just want the League 2 away ends back. They were brilliant

It was 3-0 around us the roof was just lifted off

and yet still utterly surreal

pretty sure it’ll be better next season, it’ll be backs to the wall most games, they’ll need us, just think this season it was all a bit, is this really happening, it’s the most stressed I’ve ever been watching us, even now it hasn't sunk in that we’ll be in the prem next season, reckon it’ll hit me like a brick wall after the game Sunday, got a bit emotional lifting the bloody checkatrade 😂

It’s precisely because how well we’ve been doing. Expectations are so high. Fans go to every game expecting a win.

Don’t think I’ve found any other season as stressful as this one has been from December onwards. The potential reward being so great and the margin for error so small.

Not sunk in for me
I expected us to beat Pompey 3-1 but at 3-1 I expected to draw 3-3

The emotion kicks in when I see others moved like Frank

What a season

Agreed. I also don't think the DJ helps with some of the songs in the build up and you never know which version of WLADITT we are going to get.

We need a consistent playlist before the game with fewer dance anthems with no lyrics. Then as the players come out we need Play Up Sky Blues and get the whole stadium singing it. Then the MC can go through the team and then WLADITT before the whistle!

I think that is most likely the reason and also with the extra fans attending who aren't used to attending regularly.

But to me its bizarre. We'd just secured promotion so the stadium should have been buzzing. Especially as we scored very early.

It really doesn’t help that you have the corner as the main signing part and then next to them in the South stand, between the corner and the away fans, you have a load of people sat down not getting involved.

The entirety of the South Stand should be safe standing, and the club should have encouraged everyone in the naughty corner to move over when the South Stand was first opened up to home fans
