Sorry, atmospheres brilliant
just because we’re top of the league we can still find things we can improve on, we Soon moan when players don't perform, shouldnt Even be getting a mention with the season we’re having, atmosphere should be right up there, it isn’t ?No one said it was brilliant so what's with the sarcasm?
From Where I was sitting you can hear the North Stand joining in the singing.
I thought yesterday was better than it has been recently but that isn't saying much. The first 12-15 minutes was half decent. My voice was going in the 2nd half after trying to get it going.
Just shows the state of it when people have no problem singing about promotion, etc. I find that cringe worthy.
"Stand up if you love city" managed to get half way round before dying out. Not a great chant but in years gone by was usually followed up by a loud PUSB.
It's a shame for the players, storming the league and getting nothing back from the crowd most weeks.
Yet, if we go up. Where we will likely be losing most weeks, people think the atmosphere will be better

Fair enough but the place should be the best it’s ever been, hopefully Monday will be more like itNot me, you take the rough with the smooth, it's called being a supporter.

Some of the excuses for the atmosphere are laughable:
- too cold
- someone from Wycombe was sat next to me
- it’s nervy
- we expect to win
- we’re not the underdog
If that’s the case for the excuses for home atmospheres this season when we’re top of the league, I can’t wait for next season when we will (potentially) hardly play a Saturday 3pm and will be losing most weeks.
Boxing Day atmospheres are usually brilliant. Usually when teams are winning every week, the atmosphere is buoyant. Yesterday there were numerous half hearted PUSBs that died on Tottenham or Chelsea. There was plenty in the corner that didn’t have any intention of singing and added nothing to the atmosphere. If they want to stand and watch other people sing ‘to soak up the atmosphere’ we should make the North Stand the cuckold stand and they can fuck off there to watch someone else sing.
The new drummer hasn’t got it in him, he just keeps trying to get that silly Shrek song going again and again, another football league copy and paste song.
We need some new and originalish songs quickly but the excuses for another shit home atmosphere need to stop, particularly when so many of our fans take to social media to say how electric the CBS is and we always outsing the away fans.
The atmosphere was brilliant when we returned to the CBS up until the end of the 23/24 season. Now it’s a shadow of it’s former self.
It would be better, just as it was the start of last season, the season before and especially the season before that when we started terribly.
Simply don't understand how people who have been watching football for a long time don't understand the dynamic here, how success breeds expectations and tension. There's a thread on the Middlesbrough forum that is a carbon copy of this one - Atmosphere today
Some weird takes, like those who seem to think we've suddenly gained lots of new fans and they're the problem. Every ST holder around me was there last season, it's exactly the same people. Our average is up by just 1800. Nothing's changed apart from the circumstances. Besides, boxing day is always crap, Plymouth last season was a complete sell out and was pretty flat despite a 4-0 win.
Absolutely guarantee the atmosphere Monday will be far better than Portman Road a few weeks ago. Nothing to worry about whatsoever, it's just a winter lull coupled with expectations and an unnerving sense we might fuck this up.
Because we should be looking at being better than Boro and Ipswich.
We should be striving to be the best in the country like we were 2 years ago.
We've been through hard times, it should be bouncing up there and fully supportive of the players.
We are better
I park in car park C, never really have a problem getting out! Never have got my head around the people leaving on 90mins!! What’s a few extra mins waiting until the full time whistle goesI am assuming that those leaving early are getting cars out of carpark C as when people ring in an hour later they are still queuing to get out - so the road closures don’t help with getting people away
And he had some of our mince pies . I think the brandy tipped him over the edgeWe had a rather interesting chap sit next to us yesterday - never seen him before.
Clearly had a few drinks (and other things) prior to the game.
Tried to join in with some songs but looked like someone on an all inclusive holiday who was trying to join the karaoke after 12 pints.
Anyhow, my point is at 70 minutes he left us to “cash out his bets“ as he couldn’t get reception
Each to their own but clearly not invested in the football as much as others.
Any winners? And he had some of our mince pies . I think the brandy tipped him over the edge
Yeah that’s about right. Recycled crap songs that get sung by every other team-that and self important pricks filming themselves for likes too. Time to real out some of the classics for next season if we make it.So many excuses but simple facts are not enough good songs. Every time we have a new one eg Brau at Saints, it builds just like Hamer etc did at Blackpool or Bradford (cant remember which) basically we're not different to any other fan base, but we have a few we own that nobody else sings and we need some people to be brave and try a few more that might not bang first time.
Surely the Kitching to my old man's a dustman should be the next cab off the rank, but I honestly think we forget some of our classics and it wouldn't hurt to get the drummer a play list. If he's going to bring it, his job isnt to join in, but to start the songs when it goes flat.
In Balcony Bar yesterday (and no divider between disabled fans and the rest this time: great to see), and JFC the speed of the staff again. I’ve honestly never seen such inefficiency in hospitality in my life. Some of the till operators seemed to have to type war and peace in one letter at a time. No one knew what beers were available without asking around. Food queues seemed OK but again not clear where to queue and staff just completely reactive all the time. Several members of staff just stood about. The queue to get in was miles long. There’s four people stood at the door, one slowly checking names on a paper list the others just stood about. Absolutely no impetus to work through the queue quicker. Same at the bars, two or three stood about in the background while the queue was four or five deep. Drives me nuts.
If you want a good atmosphere, just join in.
Robbed this off BBC from a Sky blue supporter -

Liam Kitchin is from Yorkshire
He wears an old flat cap
And if you throw a brick at him
He’ll head the f****r back
He heads it to the left
He heads it to the right
And when we win the championship
We’ll sing this song all night

Agree regarding the bar staff, you order a drink and they look at you as if your speaking a foreign language, then you have to explain to them what it is, which holds the queue up.
