I thought yesterday was better than it has been recently but that isn't saying much. The first 12-15 minutes was half decent. My voice was going in the 2nd half after trying to get it going.

Just shows the state of it when people have no problem singing about promotion, etc. I find that cringe worthy.

"Stand up if you love city" managed to get half way round before dying out. Not a great chant but in years gone by was usually followed up by a loud PUSB.

It's a shame for the players, storming the league and getting nothing back from the crowd most weeks.

Yet, if we go up. Where we will likely be losing most weeks, people think the atmosphere will be better

Sorry, atmospheres brilliant

No one said it was brilliant so what's with the sarcasm?

From Where I was sitting you can hear the North Stand joining in the singing. 🤔

just because we’re top of the league we can still find things we can improve on, we Soon moan when players don't perform, shouldnt Even be getting a mention with the season we’re having, atmosphere should be right up there, it isn’t ?

The atmosphere will be better with a siege/underdog mentality.

it’s not all about winning games

Not me, you take the rough with the smooth, it's called being a supporter. 🤔

It would be better, just as it was the start of last season, the season before and especially the season before that when we started terribly.

Simply don't understand how people who have been watching football for a long time don't understand the dynamic here, how success breeds expectations and tension. There's a thread on the Middlesbrough forum that is a carbon copy of this one - Atmosphere today

Some weird takes, like those who seem to think we've suddenly gained lots of new fans and they're the problem. Every ST holder around me was there last season, it's exactly the same people. Our average is up by just 1800. Nothing's changed apart from the circumstances. Besides, boxing day is always crap, Plymouth last season was a complete sell out and was pretty flat despite a 4-0 win.

Absolutely guarantee the atmosphere Monday will be far better than Portman Road a few weeks ago. Nothing to worry about whatsoever, it's just a winter lull coupled with expectations and an unnerving sense we might fuck this up.

Some of the excuses for the atmosphere are laughable:
- too cold
- someone from Wycombe was sat next to me
- it’s nervy
- we expect to win
- we’re not the underdog

If that’s the case for the excuses for home atmospheres this season when we’re top of the league, I can’t wait for next season when we will (potentially) hardly play a Saturday 3pm and will be losing most weeks.

Boxing Day atmospheres are usually brilliant. Usually when teams are winning every week, the atmosphere is buoyant. Yesterday there were numerous half hearted PUSBs that died on Tottenham or Chelsea. There was plenty in the corner that didn’t have any intention of singing and added nothing to the atmosphere. If they want to stand and watch other people sing ‘to soak up the atmosphere’ we should make the North Stand the cuckold stand and they can fuck off there to watch someone else sing.

The new drummer hasn’t got it in him, he just keeps trying to get that silly Shrek song going again and again, another football league copy and paste song.

We need some new and originalish songs quickly but the excuses for another shit home atmosphere need to stop, particularly when so many of our fans take to social media to say how electric the CBS is and we always outsing the away fans.

The atmosphere was brilliant when we returned to the CBS up until the end of the 23/24 season. Now it’s a shadow of it’s former self.

Shrek song??

Because we should be looking at being better than Boro and Ipswich.

We should be striving to be the best in the country like we were 2 years ago.

We've been through hard times, it should be bouncing up there and fully supportive of the players.

I am assuming that those leaving early are getting cars out of carpark C as when people ring in an hour later they are still queuing to get out - so the road closures don’t help with getting people away
I park in car park C, never really have a problem getting out! Never have got my head around the people leaving on 90mins!! What’s a few extra mins waiting until the full time whistle goes

Boxing Day does tend to have a lot more families and daytrippers. It's always a funny crowd. Nothing wrong with that though, happy to have them.

Could tell that a bunch of people of the concourses don't come often, including a few ladies who thought they were in the queue for the bar and nearly ended up in the gents toilets..

First off I don't attend as much as I used to but in my experience it can get edgy and tense with expectation, nervous, which I am sure the players will feel too. As a club It has been a very long time having not experienced this kind of thing apart from one off games. I think as the wins tick off, which I am sure we shall get then those tensions will ease. as this weekend showed the teams behind us did'nt, / don't or won't make up the points difference, of course there will be game days when we lose out a bit. As always there will be a surprise team or 2 to make it extra nervous. We are in a great position and the Xg and PPG maths people point out the points we gain extend the required points totals for other teams to catch us, not impossible at all for us to be caught hence the caution amongst fans. It would take a monumental collapse which I don't think this team has in it. Lets just plod away even draws are not a catastrophe not yet anyway. PUSB. ( i do what paragraphs are but i have had a few)
