Next Sat two tricky games for rivals

Blackburn v Boro
Ipswich v Millwall
Yup. Blackburn will certainly be buoyed by their win at the New Den and will still be desperate for points

Could well see that one being a draw.

No idea on the Ipswich v Millwall encounter, but a draw would probably suit us best

It would be better really if Ipswich or Millwall win and they also beat Middlesbrough As it takes another game away from 2 of the 3 and leaves only 6 to go

The other 3 are more than willing to throw points away this season, Ipswich play Norwich, Portsmouth and Middlesborough within a week. Wouldn't be surprised if they picked up only 3 or less points from that week.

I do think Millwall are the most likely to get the remaining automatic promotion spot, The next 2 games for them are massive. If we beat Swansea, there's every chance we go into the international break with at least a 9 point lead.

Yeah, I did keep that in mind too. That's probably a better outcome.

Regardless 3-4 wins needed from 8 is a magnificent position to be in

Absolutely.

Not quite there yet, but definitely in touching distance and we are in such an enviable position.

There are 23 teams who would swap their position for ours in a heartbeat.

I prefer to use PPG needed in games. Brings more reality to the situation. First line is our points and current PPG. Next is PPG extra for every remaining game needed to catch us up on points. We would still most probably be ahead on GD.

Coventry 77 points 2.02 PPG

Middlesbrough 0.875 PPG
Ipswich 1 ppg but game in hand.
Millwall 1.125 PPG

It's Ipswich v Millwall before we play on Saturday. Both sides need to win to make inroads on the PPG game needed. A point isn't good enough.

3rd April Middlesbrough v Millwall. Points dropped whatever the result. Millwall need to win at least one of their next 2 games to stay in the race. A dream next 2 games for us.

18th April Ipswich v Middlesbrough. Only relevant if either are still in the chase, but this trio of games is going to point towards what we need. Only one side can get 6 points and the other 2 fall behind the chase to catch us. Win our next 2 we pull well away from at least 2 of them.

No disrespect to Sheff Wednesday, but that should be one win

The other home games are Derby, Portsmouth and Wrexham.

You have to fancy at least one win there too. Let's say, it was only to be two wins out of that, we would probably need then just one win out of Swansea away, Hull away, Blackburn away and Watford away

Very attainable isn't it.

I am a bit worried about Wright's injury, but I hope he's going to be okay and if missing, it's just a couple of games or so.

Anything can happen of course, but I am thinking, maybe draw against Swansea, beat Derby, beat either Pompey or Wrexham, beat Wednesday, draw at Blackburn and hopefully the Watford game will have nothing riding on it.

Anyway, that would 11 points probably before the Watford game.

Though I am sure there will be twists and turns still to come.
Wright injury is a little red herring for sure. I think it’s less about the wins needed and making sure we keep the gap where it is. Once it becomes a win between us and the rest anything can happen.
