'But I am not one of these people to have jibes at Aidy Boothroyd because I like to think I am more professional than that.'

Half the interview is having a go at AB.

Never understood Boothroyds position position on McIndoe. Sure if your squad is awash with fit, talented & in form players you can afford to be a bit choosy, but given the recent injuries & poor form on show you have to utilise all available players.

It was a bit strange how he wouldn't even have him on the bench. I have always heard stuff about McIndoes off the field antics so wonder if it is something like that?

Looked good at full back

By no means was I a McIndoe fan last season, and hoped him to be a substitute this season who came on to sure things up abit if we were protecting a lead.

However I too never understood why he was completely frozen out, even kids were getting on the bench ahead of him. Had to have been some sort of background trouble, as although he cannot skin anyone to save his life he is not that bad.

I thought he was a bit of a terrior who would snap at ankles and not leave you alone...

With the form of Sheffer's at times this season you would think McIndoe deserved a turn out. But then again so has O'Donovan........

And yes, when he's played full back he's looked good.

He kept his shape well too, he just did not offer that much going forward. I remember him at Doncaster/Bristol playing us and really standing out, then he came here and didn't/hasn't made that same impact. How many players can we say that about over the years?!

Precisely. I don't understand this myth that he offers nothing going forward and is lazy. He's probably been our hardest working player the past 2 seasons.

Nothing in the sense of a traditional winger, the same as Bell - he has a good cross but he will not take anyone on. He keeps his position and offers width, but sometimes looked clueless the ball. Compare him and McSheffrey (on one of those elusive good days), who offers more attacking wise in that comparison.

Defensively he backtracks well but shirks the odd tackle.

Bottom line for me - He is a solid enough player, definitely did not deserve the treatment he got (in terms of on-field reasons) but will never set the world alight.

To the good old days there was no competition, nowadays though it might be different all together...

Looking clueless on the ball is more to do with what is around him imho. He may shirk the odd tackle, but compare that to McSheff, I believe McIndoe is the safer option and he offers SOMETHING defensively.

There is a good reason he looked good - he was playing AGAINST US! Most players look good against us. In fact McIndoe had that tough RB opponent Isaac Osbourne the year before he signed. I'd have fancied my chances of picking up a contract at the Ricoh too! :)

Must have been personal issues with AB that he is not letting on about surely he's a useful player to have on the bench to provide a cross at the end of the match when the other team are knackered and can't catch you...

It depends on what strategy we are playing perhaps. In a more rigid system he would be a more obvious choice than a defensively void McSheffrey. This makes it some what more surprising he wasn't in AB's plans.

In a more attacking system with players allowed more freedom, a McSheffrey type is better.

I have nothing against him coming back into the squad, and hopefully it may make McSheffrey return to some sort of form, but as I earlier said I would still pick McSheffrey is both were on form. I realise that is a big if.

Generally I would agree about a lack of options around him, although last year he was in the same team as Clingan who, when on form, is always available for an inside ball. Perhaps this was the issue though - McIndoe would often look forward for a pass, and who knows who he would have seen.

Im not the biggest McIndoe fan but with our small squad now he must definately be considered.

He looked good against Leicester in September, cannot be worse than Baker surely?

if I was a manager, with 1 win in 16 games I would be trying every one of the players at my disposal! if players aren't cutting it, bring someone else in. Our squad isn't that large that we can afford players to be sitting on their backsides when backs are against the wall
