Not making the Championship POF versus Luton Town at Wembley.

I had bought a ticket but couldn't go as I had committed to going on holiday to the in-laws house in the South of France.

I had never seen England or Cov lose at Wembley, therefore, I do wonder had I of been there would that streak have continued - I guess that'll work out for the best if we go on and get promoted this season as Champions.

The Cayman Islands.
Boxing Day 1986 missed beating Spurs with a late winner from the mighty Cyrille Regis, on holiday in Tenerife.

We were staying in an Apartment Complex with some Tottenham Hotspur fans, god did I rub it in when I saw the score.

And then the following Christmas of 87 we go back to the same apartments in Tenerife and meet up with the same Tottenham fans who were also there, the grin on my face walking around with a T-shirt saying Cov City FA Cup winners 1987.

Happy days.

That was truly a great day, the jubilation of the news about the stadium earlier in the day really was the tonic - Minute I got to the ground I had a feeling we were going to turn up on the pitch that afternoon
So many poetic details to that day. The fact it was against QPR as it was in 2005. Almost exactly 20 years later. Wright and Torp doing Jorgensen's celebration (a really nice touch from them). 8 goals in the game like our last at HR.

I went but none of my mates who I normally went up with did.
They missed out on seeing Sepp Maier, Uli Hoeness and Gerd Muller.
All great players, and don't forget their legendary captain, Franz Beckenbauer.
I was there that night, I couldn't believe i was watching them at Highfield Road playing against us. It felt surreal

Biggest regret for me would not being able to go to Wembley in '87. I had a nightclub at the time, and a busy event and open that night of course. But did show it on our big projector screen more use to playing Michael Jackson's Thriller! As I was the DJ too, that night I teased Harry Redknapp's players from Bournemouth FC who would be in the club that night by replaying the goals over and over during the night!

Moving to London, getting married and having kids. All three have in their own way tempered my attendance over the years.
Same, but not London. My big regret is only getting to a handful of games most years, but it's a question of priorities and family rightly top the bill.

Imagining Jeremy Paxman as a DJ. Mice throwing themselves on the traps.

Chose not to get a ticket for the Notts County 2nd leg play off cos I thought they’d beat us easily. My Dad, his mate and my in-laws all went and had the best night.

Made the same stupid decision for the Wolves FA Cup game. Still furious with myself for not going to that one 😫

Not going to the last game at HR, not going to Notts County in the play offs, missing out on Europe when we won the cup, but I've been at Wembley every time we've been there so it's not all bad.

I would have given my cup final ticket away to spend the evening in a nightclub with Paxman DJing. (the poster from here Paxman, not the actual one).

Is that for the £6or £45?
£178 relates to £45 in 1987.

The original £6 ticket price mentioned by Torch would be just under £24 now.

If you google "this is money historic inflation calculator" you can work out today's price equivalent of any past sum.

I walked out of Pompey away at 3-1 down in 2019 as soon as the referee pulled the red card out of his pocket to show to Dabo...
I also very nearly bailed when Wolves made it 2-1 in the FA Cup 1/4 final last season as well, I was absolutely gutted and the Wolves fans above the away end were foaming at the mouth to goad us

If it wasn't for my dad saying "We are clapping those players off after the performance they have put in today" I would have probably left and very nearly never forgiven myself for missing the end of one of my favourite ever City games
