Not making the Championship POF versus Luton Town at Wembley.

I had bought a ticket but couldn't go as I had committed to going on holiday to the in-laws house in the South of France.

I had never seen England or Cov lose at Wembley, therefore, I do wonder had I of been there would that streak have continued - I guess that'll work out for the best if we go on and get promoted this season as Champions.

Boxing Day 1986 missed beating Spurs with a late winner from the mighty Cyrille Regis, on holiday in Tenerife.

We were staying in an Apartment Complex with some Tottenham Hotspur fans, god did I rub it in when I saw the score.

And then the following Christmas of 87 we go back to the same apartments in Tenerife and meet up with the same Tottenham fans who were also there, the grin on my face walking around with a T-shirt saying Cov City FA Cup winners 1987.

Happy days.

That was truly a great day, the jubilation of the news about the stadium earlier in the day really was the tonic - Minute I got to the ground I had a feeling we were going to turn up on the pitch that afternoon
So many poetic details to that day. The fact it was against QPR as it was in 2005. Almost exactly 20 years later. Wright and Torp doing Jorgensen's celebration (a really nice touch from them). 8 goals in the game like our last at HR.

I went but none of my mates who I normally went up with did.
They missed out on seeing Sepp Maier, Uli Hoeness and Gerd Muller.
All great players, and don't forget their legendary captain, Franz Beckenbauer.
I was there that night, I couldn't believe i was watching them at Highfield Road playing against us. It felt surreal

Biggest regret for me would not being able to go to Wembley in '87. I had a nightclub at the time, and a busy event and open that night of course. But did show it on our big projector screen more use to playing Michael Jackson's Thriller! As I was the DJ too, that night I teased Harry Redknapp's players from Bournemouth FC who would be in the club that night by replaying the goals over and over during the night!
