Didn't mmm say they were not allowed to offer free tickets unless through schools and sports clubs?

One way round it is that sports clubs get bucket loads of freebies. Local sports clubs have been getying loads

A lad I work with went and apparently they got their free tickets through his mates wife's volleyball team.

He also said that the pitch looked awful.

Think they use TicketMaster in which case that's going straight to them. The way it works is the ticket seller gets all the face value of the ticket and TM get the fees. If they wanted to have the tickets on there without any fees they'd get a nice bill from TM as someone has to pay them.

Seen another clip yesterday - the one where the lad scores a try that needed the video ref (still never get how in rugby you can't thrown the egg forward but you can kick it and run on to it.....). Looked in a terrible state (he sprinted quite some distance so camera got a fair bit in view)

So before the game we are saying the bad pitch will favour Bradford? Is that the same Bradford team that put 4 past chelsea on a perfect pitch?

Has anyone said Bradford can't play well on a perfect pitch?

If you are playing the long ball game I would reckon you could play the same way on any pitch. If you play the ball on the floor then the quality of the pitch could be more of a factor. You need a good surface and for it to be anything but bobbly if at all possible.

Maybe the bobbly pitch could wok in our favour?

Some of those stray passes might be redirected to the right player for a change!!!! One of our own.

Fleck miss hits a shot that is heading for a throw in, but then hits a bobble and is redirected straight into the top corner of the net?

The biggest thing in our favour is that Bradford are still in with the chance of a semi final at Wembley. The players won't want to get injured and so will play within themselves. That is how we could capitalise if we are up for it.

Apart from us not having any players who will get stuck in to them.

which is why I said if we're up for it

But as Nick suggests, even if we have players who may feel they are 'up for it,' we don't have the type of player who will get stuck in, in our squad.

We're not really a meaty challenge side exactly are we.

Imagine a Barton up for it, he may get his shorts muddy!

Should be into them from the off, nipping at heels, in their ear telling them their wife is a minger, standing on feet and generally being horrible bastatds

“It was a very strange surface to play football on. They played rugby on it on Sunday and it looked as if nothing at all had been done on it since.
“I’d never seen anything like it. I said to Steve Parkin after about ten minutes ‘is that ball the right shape?’
“The lads were complaining but the ref didn’t do anything about it, which didn’t surprise me because he probably didn’t notice. But the pitch was so lively for both teams.”

When Phil Parkinson is complaining about a pitch it must be pretty bad.

IN the first few minutes one of their players lost control of the ball and looked at the pitch and Chris Stokes did the same. It did look dreadful with patches of sand all over it.

We should complain and make our landlords do something about the state of the pitch. :thinking about:

I suppose in fairness to the ref, there's not much he can do about it. As long as it's not dangerous and you can see the lines I think that's all he's allowed to to concern himself about.

Maybe we should do the cricket thing and bring out the heavy roller at half-time. <Insert own Micky Quinn/Andy Thorn joke here>.

Yep, what did he want the ref to do, abandon the match?

Hmmm, thinking about it, with their schedule, that's probably exactly what he wanted.

It was a poor surface for sure, but no way could it be described as unplayable and that is all the ref is interested in. If it is playable then the game goes ahead.

No one will convince me that anything other than the Ricoh is available to us.

About the only people who are paying to go are the Wasps season ticket holders from Adams Park. Wonder how many of those will be there next season?

Really? How many season ticket holders do you think there are from Adams Park? Also, that revenue will have been banked. So you are effectively saying that Wasps get no ticket income from any game (apart from away fans who I am sure must be paying)?

I'm sure it's all commercially confidential...

So the football finance expert who is infinitely more intelligent and has a greater understanding than both of us about the issue at hand was wrong when he said there is no way up at the Ricoh and compared us to Stockport who are now dead as a result of renting from a Rugby club?

Surely you're not suggesting offshore entertainment and business services groups who run franchise rugby clubs might not be transparent?

Whatever next : hedge funds who also try to franchise football clubs 40 miles away may also not be greatly trusted?

MGI/Moonshine and SISI : 2 peas in a pod.

Getting the topic back on track, I have just checked and Wasps now don't have another game at the Ricoh until 26th April. Hopefully this will give the pitch a bit of time to recover and some remedial work can be done on it, to make it more conducive to football needs.

tbh I doubt there is a lot that can be done with it, throw on a bit of sand and what?

At least it shouldn't be getting much worse between now and the last home game, our last game is 25th April.
