Oppo fans around you was always the case at HR when Manure came to town. 50% of the West Terrace jumped up when they scored. And yes, the complaints got loud quickly.

But not all fans are like that. Went to a rearranged game at Newcastle (when they were redoing the Gallowgate end) and away fans weren't allowed in. Some of my mates got complimentary tickets from the players in an upper stand, a few others had tickets behind the goal. I missed out so had to get a ticket from a tout. On my own, surrounded by Magpies, I can honestly say I had the best time at an away game. Once I'd declared I was City and the circumstances I was there, everyone around me were more than happy to chat. Okay, we lost 4-0 and I gave Oggy as much stick as the home fans but there was no animosity towards the sole Cov fan in that area. Unlike my friends behind the goal who were like statues for the entire game

Unfortunately some football supporters are idiots.
You only have to look on this website to figure that out! :nailbiting:

Football's all about rivalries. Atmospheres at games are because of the rivalries.

It needs an edge. OK, it doesn't have to be a violent edge(!) but who wants a sanitised Simon Cowell version of what a football crowd should be?

agree with this, this is why I love football. Can have a drink with away team supporters prior and after the game but during the game they are wankers! Don't get the violence thing but I absolutely hate when the other team score and we get the taunts but love it the other way. That's football and it isn't replicated in any other sport. There are idiots who take it too far but that's what makes it the greatest game worldwide.
Corporate and Sky etc is slowly taking this away and this may not be there is 20-30 years time and when my team doesn't feel like my team then I will review attending football!

Thats the thing isn't it.

The worst bit for me is when the other team score and theres a couple of milliseconds before you hear them.

If there was a bloke with his kids who supported the other team sat with a CCFC fan near me and they cheered it I wouldn't want to start kicking off over it or be disgusted. The other teams fans and players have always been "the enemy" while the game is on since I was a kid. By "The Enemy" it's probably the same as you where they are the baddies, boo to them, cheeky wanker sign if you aren't going to get caught. Not on the level of violence but more the boos, the piss taking etc.

Sometimes I'd probably enjoy watching a game with opposition fans and ripping the piss than some of our own fans who seem to struggle with life in general.

It's like time wasting, if we are doing it and winning it's the best thing ever. If the other team do it then it should be banned instantly and they should be kicked out of the league.

Cracks me up when politicians take the moral high ground regarding football supporters.

Look at the house of commons. 2 banks of terracing opposing each other jeering, insulting and heckling for the entirety...
