As i've stated in other thread's i'm not with the idea of a protest, not because i like SISU, but because i don't think it will work. As SISU won't go unless they get an offer which will will get them their money back.
Rather than concentrating on attempting to annoy SISU (what they going to do? just pull the plug - they lose £30m and we lose 10points our championship status - have even lower income streams and similar overheads thus having even greater losses) whose going to want to take that over / and has the funds available to do that?
the reason teams like Man City / Norwich / Leeds / Forest have all gone down to lge 1 and come abck is because their fans still turned up......provided the club with support /finance to get back
Therefore alternative number 1
I think we should be trying to make our club as an attractive opportunity to new investors.
A boycott has got to be the most Lazy form of protest option, it means doing nothing nothing. Villa fans at work our laughing at the idea , joking that's how sh1t our support is, "so the protest is........you don't go.....ha ha ha"!
If we get a really low gate in the FA cup 3rd round that's hardly going to make the press is it? What would make the press is if the Ricoh was full of people protesting about SISU..........ITV would no doubt then show this on the highlights and people across the country would be saying to their mates "you see all those cov fans protesting at the weekend, they really don't like their owners do they/ quality supporters"
This then also would showcase to potential investors that there is still a fan base that does care and if that they were to come in and invest and got us going forward that the club just might be a sleeping giant capable of getting back to the Premier Lge and the potential riches that brings.
Alternative number 2
We get SISU to meet the fans and commit (a legally binding document if necessary) that any profits from the FA cup will be reinvested in players / loan signings this season.
That then gives fans the chance to make a difference not only to the cup match but potentially the rest of the season.
