Alternative idea's (1 Viewer)

As i've stated in other thread's i'm not with the idea of a protest, not because i like SISU, but because i don't think it will work. As SISU won't go unless they get an offer which will will get them their money back.

Rather than concentrating on attempting to annoy SISU (what they going to do? just pull the plug - they lose £30m and we lose 10points our championship status - have even lower income streams and similar overheads thus having even greater losses) whose going to want to take that over / and has the funds available to do that?

the reason teams like Man City / Norwich / Leeds / Forest have all gone down to lge 1 and come abck is because their fans still turned up......provided the club with support /finance to get back

Therefore alternative number 1

I think we should be trying to make our club as an attractive opportunity to new investors.

A boycott has got to be the most Lazy form of protest option, it means doing nothing nothing. Villa fans at work our laughing at the idea , joking that's how sh1t our support is, "so the protest is........you don't go.....ha ha ha"!

If we get a really low gate in the FA cup 3rd round that's hardly going to make the press is it? What would make the press is if the Ricoh was full of people protesting about SISU..........ITV would no doubt then show this on the highlights and people across the country would be saying to their mates "you see all those cov fans protesting at the weekend, they really don't like their owners do they/ quality supporters"

This then also would showcase to potential investors that there is still a fan base that does care and if that they were to come in and invest and got us going forward that the club just might be a sleeping giant capable of getting back to the Premier Lge and the potential riches that brings.

Alternative number 2
We get SISU to meet the fans and commit (a legally binding document if necessary) that any profits from the FA cup will be reinvested in players / loan signings this season.

That then gives fans the chance to make a difference not only to the cup match but potentially the rest of the season.

If there was a full stadium at Southampton, SISU would be laughing there heads off at what mugs us fans are.

What would get attention is all those who don't attend the game to be protesting outside whilst the game is playing.

SiSu are only intrested in making money for there investors and do not give a crap about CCFC the supporters or the history of our club. Fans that have paid for there season ticket should turn up afterall they have paid there money so why should they waste it but the fans that are staying away are pissed off with no investment in the team or club so as for filling the stadium to line SISU's pockets and there investors no chance untill they invest in the team and the club!!

Protest in the ground against hull, bristol and Brighton and boycott saints game. It's only ONE game! It'll be the usual rubbish though won't it,the usual people chanting while the rest sit there doing naff all.

As I did say on an earlier thread regarding protesting outside whilst the game is playing will not work because come kick off only a small handful will still be protesting because the others would be in watching the game, because the attraction of going in is too strong because the buzz of watching your team weather you know in your heart they are going to lose makes no differance it's because you are loyal and love your club weather you like or dislike the owners or whats going on with YOUR club it's YOUR club and thats why an outside protest while the game is going on just won't work.
Nothing against the idea mind it's just that the reality is differant, how many times have people organised something and everyone says yes i'll go and come the day only a couple turn up to actually go?

Has he got a safety kite mark on his glow do we know? trouble is there would have to be a fire extigusher close buy and everyone would be using them on him all the time?
Thinking about it good idea La-Lucha lets see if he'll do it :thinking about:

If not, bang him over the head with the fire extinguisher and then he will lie there unable to get away. If anyone then wants to use the fire extinguisher on him then it would be highly amusing.

Oh good. So if everyone turns up at this cup match we will not lose our Championship status :thinking about:

BTW I do not agree with not going to the game as this is not a protest to be noticed. It will just look like another sh1t gate by itself.

When you go to a game, you are not supporting SISU, your supporting our beloved team. We will still get 5-6000 going to the game no matter what people say on here, so planning a boycott is pointless. So get loads down there, support THE TEAM, and get as many "SISU OUT" banners as we can.

Not convinced by this we will get 5-6,000 anyway. Think if this campaign gains momentum it could be as low at 2,000. That would be embarrassing.

Otis - there are strict rules about FA cup tickets. You are not allowed to charge below £15 for a third round match and the price of childrens tickets has to be agreed between the clubs. Even SISU would have a hard time convincing the FA that we are all under 16's!!

Okay. Didn't know that. Always thought that as long as the two clubs agreed they could charge whatever they want.

Said this before but the only true way to hit SISU is to hit them where it hurts. We need to get matches abonded which not only will incure massive fines from the FA, but also raise the profile of the protest. Away fans won't come knowing theres a decent chance the game won't finish. A points deduction won't matter to us as we are down anyway.

A lazy form of protest? How so?

A crowd of sub 2-3000 would make news. Currently a boycott of a game in the league would not make as much news because the club would still count ST holders. A cup game is counted on the day.

In a cup match we are more likely to get the opposition to join in on a boycott. After all, they have been through a similar financial disaster recently.

A full house would make nobody stand up and listen. SISU would just come out and praise the fans, but lets face it, a full house isnt going to happen, neither is a boycott because people like you havent got the balls to do it. Listening to Aston Villa fans about crowds? LOL, they only fill VP with ManUtd fans. Look at their gates this season, have they got near a sell out aside from MU?.

Then we recicve a football banning order mate. I'd love a good pitch invasion but don't fancy the banning order however some people might think its a blessing in disguise haha

hmmmm....... good point. Are flares/smoke bombs banned??? 100 of those things going off at the same time would cause havok.

Option 1 is great-but lets do it at every single league game.

Option 2-come on, get real. When we try to meet with them, they call the cops and tell us to f*** off! No chance.

A record-low Ricoh crowd coupled with ensuring the media know there is a fan boycott for this game will get noticed. And even if it doesn't, it's the principle and right to protest that is being expressed. We can get behind the team and wave SISU OUT banners every week, but seeing as season ticket holders will get counted for every other game whether we show up or not, this is the only game where we can effectively boycott. Please don't try to undermine that.

a boycott is still a passive protest rather than an active protest........i personally think a more active protest would have more effect.

At the end of the day SISU aren't going to go because of the boycott of one match.......however this is our one and only chance to celebrate the 25th anniversary of winning the cup.......so whose losing out? we are.

as i stated in my first thread (Boycott?i'd rather do this).........themed day..... Full house.........all the old memoribillia....get the open top bus out the motor museum.......players etc lap of honour /speech by snozzer pre match get the fans going...........go for it city on the stereo etc etc

would have given kids who weren't old old enough to go that great day a good day out and bring back some good memories for those who did

if all this sh1t with SISU wasn't happened i'd like to have think someone would have tried to arrange this.

Flares at the director box is a good shout

lol, not quiet, was thinking more of the smoke from all the flares/smoke bombs would get the game called off. would look awesome as well if there are 4-5 flares in each block around 3 quaters of the stadium.
