Nadal through to the SF, looking likely another Nadal v Djokovic final. I’m hoping someone different for a change.
Some real concern about his fitness it was experience that got him over against a mediocre opponent. Let’s hope he has enough to beat the man who thinks it’s ok to slap women around on Friday
What’s the story bro? Some real concern about his fitness it was experience that got him over against a mediocre opponent. Let’s hope he has enough to beat the man who thinks it’s ok to slap women around on Friday
Rafael Nadal withdraws from Wimbledon before Nick Kyrgios semi-final with injury
Rafael Nadal withdraws from his Wimbledon semi-final against Nick Kyrgios with an abdominal injury.www.bbc.co.uk
Seems a bit unfair getting a bye to final. Would it not make more sense for one of the losers from the last round to step in? Perhaps the best performing based on some stats/data along the lines of goal difference in footy?
A semi final must take it out of you so Norrie or Djokovic already at a disadvantage in the final. I’m sure it’s the rule and there is precedent but…
Good shout, the player who lost to Nadal in the QF would be the best option but I guess he may already be back in the states?
Give Andy Murray the slot and we can all wear Aussie yellowWould be the sensible choice yeah. And then if he can’t/doesn’t want to I’m sure plenty in the last round would.
How's everyone doing on Cameron Cliff today?Novaccine is losing .
Norrie , Norrie , Norrie !
An absolute bellend. Worse than McEnroe was with this childish behaviour and nowhere near as good a player And to compound matters he wears his hat the wrong way round with the peak up.After some really superb tennis he’s now resorted to ranting and raving at the officials, crowd and his own family. He is a twat.
I'm loving Kyrgios's reactions, making the game entertaining!

He was phenomenal the standard was So so highCouldn't find a Wimbledon thread, anyone watch Murray last night?
Whatever the final result when the match resumes today, he was phenomenal last night, 36 years old, metal hip and all his injuries and the torrid time he's had, the turned the clock back 10 years with that performance.

Certainly the best he has played since the operation. Only worry is whether that pain that he seemed to be suffering in the penultimate point means anything sinister. I hope not as he has been an amazing player.Couldn't find a Wimbledon thread, anyone watch Murray last night?

Would have won if they'd have continued last night. Had momentum, was serving really well and had Tsitsipas on the ropes. So unlucky for Murray. His serve just let him down in that 5th set, kept going til the end. Heroic effort.

Was awesome absolutely brilliant such composureWell done to Coco Gauff - great performance and a great speech afterwards - what a star she’s going to be
Yes after a slow start was a really interesting game. What a brilliant comeback by Sinner, coming back from 2 sets down to beat Medvedev to win the Aussie Open.

If they're only going to give a short suspension, and missing no grand slams, because it was non-performance enhancing then surely you look at changing the rules to not ban non-performance enhancing drugs.Remarkably Jannick Sinner has managed to "negotiate" his ban down from 1-2 years but a minimum of a 1 year ban (which is what WADA advised) to a 3 month ban, for 2 failed drug tests. Loses no points, no trophies, etc from the time he was playing while doping (deliberately or accidentally doesn't matter). Will be back in time to play the French Open.
Lower ranked players have had 1-2 year bans for similar.
The ban seems more a punishment on behalf of his medical staff, and for Wada to retain legitimacy as their rules don't make a lot of sense. I get the hard line on drugs in sport, but the idea of a "drug cheat" doesn't seem to apply here. There were also cultural inferences, which the various Italian agencies need to sort out, as it's a bad look for their leading sportsman to be involved in this.In a statement on Saturday, Wada said it accepted the three-time Grand Slam champion "did not intend to cheat", that the drug "did not provide any performance-enhancing benefit" and this happened "without his knowledge as the result of negligence of members of his entourage".
