Missed the first half for that. Assumed it was over long ago, but just kept hope alive right until the very end. Enjoyed it.

As he came in I was just about to put what is the point in either of the Currans, I don’t think either would would bowl a county side out and then he has his once in a lifetime innings.

Get Woaksy back in a real bowling all rounder.

Great start for the Bears. Derby 0-2!

Games are being streamed live on YouTube for free. Looks like they've improved the setup from last year and Rob Gurney is on comms.

The ECB (rightly) get a lot of stick for a lot of things, but making all of these streams available with BBC commentary attached is really fantastic.
And as has been said, it is getting better too. Expecting a pretty middling season for Warwickshire this year. Batting looks pretty fragile and the bowling looks much weaker without Jeetan Patel to back things up. Having said that, OHD is steadily becoming quietly brilliant.

Handy little partnership for Derbyshire. Is it me or have most of the games been identical to eachother. Early wickets before lunch, partnership after it

Has everyone forgotten how to bat over the winter? Warwick now 0/1, Rhodes out for a second ball duck.

Nice to see Stone and OHD bowling together. Although Stone's radar looked a little wonky.
Shame that Norwell picked up a(nother) knock because once again, past the first two seamers, the attack looks a little bit weak. Bresnan coming on at first change could be a bit of a pressure release.

Having said that, 76-4 at lunch is not to be sniffed at.

Also chuffed for Dom Sibley at the Wisden announcement this morning. Does things the hard way, earned his place in the Test side through weight of runs, and thoroughly deserves to be acknowledged for it.

Really good win for the Bears - considering only had 10 batsmen

Broad was bowling well at the end but Briggs and Bresnan did well.

Brilliant performance, didn't think they had a chance of getting that total to be honest.

No more selectors. Now falls to the England coach assisted by scouts and analysts.

Ed Smith's England selector role abolished, Chris Silverwood takes charge

Ed Smith's role as England national selector has been abolished, with team selection becoming the responsibility of head coach Chris Silverwood.

I think it's worth a try.
Too many tales of coaches being handed players they didn't want.
But be brave and pick the players for the conditions- not on who plays normally. Stop this over-rotation.
Get out there and identify these young players early - county cricket has never had so many 19/20/21 year olds playing regular games in all formats - it should be exciting times in all formats.

think that's a strong appointment with all those young batsmen and also Trotty had a good style and technique himself.

Another tight finish on the cards as Warwickshire chase a getable target against Essex. Hopefully get to lunch with plenty of wickets in hand.

That's a quality win after letting Essex of the hook yesterday.
Said last year I do like Yates - really battles it out.

Second impressive run chase in successive weeks, against a really high quality attack. Essex won't be far away from the title again this year.
It was nice to see Vihari get some good runs too.

Never like getting out cheap as for much of the game you'll tend to be a spectator. Will be very rusty after this long out but will just be nice to crack a few shots off
