Clarification on this matter would surely make the FL act?

Fernando, I would imagine if FL take the GS (thank you Monners) off Sisu, they won't pay it anyway.
You seriously don't think there are enough intelligent people in and around Coventry to take the club forward in a business sense?
And throw in what would surely be the biggest sigh of relief heard in the Coventry area for hundreds of years as jubilant fans realise they are free of Sisu.
Of course there are obstacles, but with the backing of the Coventry football public it can be done.
CCFC92. The FL giveth the GS and they take it away.
I don't very much Sisu would get anywhere with legal action. They've broken FL rules, that isn't even debatable. And we know they've broken other rules but obscured it all with their musical chairs policy.

Thanks for the reply

My only question is: say the FL take the share, will there be players to play for CCFC? Or are their contracts tied to SISU/Otium?

What football club? You'll have the right to play in the league but no players or assets.

Agreed. There's too much "we've payed this, and they haven't payed that" going on. No one knows where anyone stands. Although if ACL have not received any monies owed, they know where they stand if that makes sense?

Weeks and months of Sisu's lies and bluster, not paying a legally binding rent, not paying what they owe as instructed, forcing a six figure sum upon the taxpayers of Coventry with yet more to come; and yet one statement form ACL suggesting they won't deal with these bloodsuckers until they get what they are owed, and out come the fickle brigade. If it all goes tits up, it will be ACL's fault. Unbelievable.

Probably tied to Sisu. Though experts better than me will throw light on that.
Though the players might be able to claim that Sisu can't fulfil their contract - so any playing contracts might be voided.
It's a very complex situation isn't it. But a can do attitude would take us a long way.
Only one way to find out. My take is ANYTHING is better than this madness.

I agree, we are in a position where sitting and waiting may eventually work out as we all want, or acting and it achieves a return for CCFC. But either action (or lack of) could also see the club not exist

Fernando, we can sign other players. We have a stadium just waiting to be filled.
If you read fans comments on here, most of the players we have are rubbish, so going out and getting more shouldn't be too much of an ask.
Yeah, taking these steps is big stuff, but this Sisu situation is so serious. It calls for big moves.

Yes so if they say "that money was for x and y" it would clear it up.

Just need the fl to decide a figure and pay it

really don't understand why everyone is getting so depressed or irate about this.....

I don't see how anythings changed.....

ACL, SISU, CCC & FL are all still cunts....

All correct apart from the fact it does change things because if SISU fail to pay the bill either at all or in time, we may face another deduction which would suck but also as it's not the first deduction, this time it will be more points, like 15 or 20 I fear.

EDIT: the fact that no-one appears to know where Mc Gin & T's cash has gone is fucking hilarious.....

And who is going to pay for all these imaginary players and their imaginary wages, and who is going to pay the rent whilst not making a dime from matchday revenues?

Could ACL not buy/run the club?

Just food for thought.....

Fwiw SISU should pay it and stop pissing about.

But, adding 590k to ACL's coffers is contrary to their unspoken strategy. Hence why it hasn't happened. The fact that the guarantors were approached might suggest their strategy is having an effect but then again might not.

Worryingly having banked the Wilson money, and presumably now agreed a compensation deal for Christie, what realistic assets are now left to sell. If you did intend to liquidate the club, it is hard to think of a much better time than now.

Agreed. ACL's accounts for this year will be interesting. If they make a profit, however small, then surely the "unspoken strategy" has failed?

A couple of issues.

When asked a few moths ago about the 590k didn't ML reply "we have an agreement in place and under no circumstances will it be breached" or something like that? He has gone very quiet and hopefully now he realises why we were so concerned with it.

Also it looks increasing like sisu are asset stripping the club and are getting ready to liquidate? The quicker you liquidate the less you have to pay due to not letting costs debts run as high.

A few comments now from rumour mills have suggested it's only a matter of time until sisu liquidate.

May not be all doom and gloom.

It is time now for the Football League to act. To be fair to them last year they were backed into a corner with little time to think before the season started. They probably took the view that the worst thing that could happen for Coventry City and it's supporters would be being unable to fulfil its fixtures and therefore having to leave the league. At that time they possibly thought that the owners were involved in a tit for tat commercial dispute with two sides to the story and that a sizeable section of the support were sympathetic. Given undertakings to move towards a new stadium and pay the 590k they perhaps felt they were dealing with reasonable people with football in their hearts.

Now they should realise how they have been deceived. They aren't dealing with reasonable people but ruthless sharks. None of the promises have been kept. A judge has exposed the true motives of the hedge fund and it must be increasingly obvious that the supporters, with the exception of a few hundred souls who in fairness just want to watch their team play, anywhere, do not endorse the removal of Coventry City to Northampton.

So, the nuclear option, the unthinkable, refusing the golden share, or giving SISU an ultimatum, return to Coventry or get out of the league, is now no longer unthinkable. Hardly any of us will go to Northampton now. in five years time, unless SISU are stopped this will be no better.

You would need to sign 22 players and find a new manager. Do all the players around europe have contracts with clubs and are there no managers with out a job. CCFC have no assets they have all been sold, it would not take a lot of money to build a team to the standard we have now.

I can only see one way SISU would come back to the table and that's if ACL/council actually found a new tenant, whether a summer or winter tenant, something to take the pressure off ACL a bit.

It would make SISU finally make a big decision, whether to finally negotiate or go the extremely costly route of a new stadium, which most agree will be the greatest loss making stadium in British footballing history due to the hatred of those that built it.

ACL needs to finally find a use for the bowl, even if they have to plan to concrete it over and use it as a concert venue, but do something with it, if they do SISU will have to come back or they are truly rogered.

Just do something with it and SISU will have to negotiate or else

Well I have to say that's very disappointing. I was hoping this might be publicising a fresh offer to return at least equal to the FL offer last season.

There were outstanding issues then as there are now so why no new offer?

Perhaps it's an indication that this worthless vulnerable company is pretty sure of itself following the JR and the fact that they are laying down terms and conditions as a precursor before any return of the club means that they are confident that they have a future with or without the club.

So I guess the big question is, is this a gamble/bluff off sisu size proportions or have sisu fooked up more than they realise or will ever admit with their attempts to distress ACL?

Either way it's all bullshit and not something any real fan of CCFC should be happy about.

Average wage circa 2k p/w x 22 = £44k

Rent p/w = 400k/52 = £7692

At a very basic (missing all sorts of expenses) level that's 50 odd grand to find for the first week.

Good luck.

Hills, 15,000 at just a tenner each. That's obviously £150,000. A year's rent in one game.
Sure there are obstacles. But a positive attitude takes you a long way.
