A local chairman (3 Viewers)

A few months back SISU were banging on about how they were looking to recruit a local businessman as chairman. Have there been any developments or is this an example of yet more lies from SISU?

I don't think its "lies". Its more a case of not being able to find anyone prepared to work with SISU. Would you?

One wonders what local businessman would want to be SISU's puppet. Whoever it is would probably face his company being boycotted by all CCFC fans so why would anyone think it would make commercial sense to step into the position?

If that's the case, Shortland Horne is a good shout. Archer Bassett seem to play the Sky Blue card as often as possible too!

Is it any wonder why we have a divided fan base when we read comments like this?

I would like to see a Chairman appointed - regardless of whether SISU stay or go. This is common place for any significant business undertaking. I would not expect to see any such person then the victim of the sort of campaign to which you allude as it is quite frankly malicious.

People have lives, financial commitments, families - the Chairman may have a large employee base and I would not like to see those people indirectly suffering because you decide to "boycott" his/her products or services.

Sorry but I find your post irresponsible and not one I suspect are large part of the CCFC fans would approve.

You say such a chairman's company would be boycotted "by ALL the CCFC fans" - There were about 200 at the protest yesterday. There were about 8,000 in the ground who were not. It is the 8,000 that you need to win the hearts and minds of if you want to bring about change. I am pretty sure the 8,000 will not be boycotting in the manner you suggest.

If there is to be a Chairman then in my opinion it should be more of a figurehead role than a KD type of role - so a former Coventry manager/player of iconic status.

I am sure this was an attempt to lure Hoffman (and whatever funds are following him) into to some sort of shared ownership deal....

On the other hand Brody said this was something which Sisu do all of the time in their other business, which once again shows that they they really had no clue in how to run a football club.

If you're going to belittle the protest TIMS at least be factual. At no stage was there 8,000 City fans in the ground...was it 1,700 saints fans in a gate of 9,000? Far less City fans for the 1st 15 minutes and I was at the protest and would say there were at least 400/500 there at one stage...I know countless fans that boycotted completely so are you not taking those into account? You make some good points about a local chairman but don't underestimate the strength of feeling against the current regime

Don't think there is anyway near a divided fan base on getting sisu out of our club, a few different opinions as to how we try to do it. Reference yesterdays demo 5/600 at a point were there that represents 5% of the doubtful published attendance, that ain't bad. Just about all who stood around were of the opinion the longer this lot run our club the deeper in the shite we go.

Wasting your time with some mate...just been on facebook where's there's quite a few smugly boasting they'll be there when the '200' are the only ones in the ground. These people will get the club they deserve...

for TIMS & others who belittled the protest, i was there for over 25mins,
as i approached i counted the breadth of fans,
15+ wide, i just managed to get standside through the crowd of protesters,
as i was doing so i counted the depth of fans, at least 20 either side of the statue, plus,
at least a 100 peripheral fans,
so 15 x 35, as a miserly estimate = 525,
so where do the likes of the media come up with 'less than 200' ? - linnell - before/during the game,
what i saw was a heartfelt protest at the way we, as CCFC fans, are, & have, been treated,
& after the game our local media - bandwagon merchants ????
