This was my guess at what Doug would do........it's not what I would do!If we only spent 40m in the premier league relegation would be guaranteed. King and Lampard have far ambition than that

Hamer wins on yellow cards!Stats from this season disagree unfortunately. Torp is better at shooting, Hamer better in possession and passing, about equal defensively.
If you think Hamer has had a better season than Torp it might be time to put the stats sheet down. Torp is a monster player for us under Lampard. Hamer on the other hand, even Blunts fans would tell you he's been poor.Stats from this season disagree unfortunately. I agree, but I'm guessing at what Doug might do. He's been pretty calculating on where his investment has been spent. After watching 17th placed West Brom pull apart our defence yesterday, I’d be terrified of what Premier League attacks would do to us if we only spent £40m.
King will back Lampard pretty hard I think. Will be way more than £40 million. After watching 17th placed West Brom pull apart our defence yesterday, I’d be terrified of what Premier League attacks would do to us if we only spent £40m.
Yes because it's completely unnecessary.
The worst thing you can do with a winning side is flood it with new players, especially when they aren't really needed.
Bringing in that many players in a January window is usually only reserved for the desperate.
I can't see us getting that many loans in during the January window.
The parent clubs will want their players to get plenty of game time and I think we only need, at most, 1-2 starters plus 1-2 squad players. I wouldn't want to disrupt the team with too many starters if we are still running away with the league. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Torp's been in the goals whereas Hamer hasn't, but if you look at other parts of their game Hamer has still performed better overall. If you think Hamer has had a better season than Torp it might be time to put the stats sheet down. Who's having a better season? Would any neutral say Hamer?Torp's been in the goals whereas Hamer hasn't, but if you look at other parts of their game Hamer has still performed better overall.
Check it out for yourself dudeWho's having a better season? Would any neutral say Hamer?
I'm sure I can find a few random Championship midfielders with better stats in certain areas, unfortunately those players aren't banging in volleys every other week nor are they a key player for the team absolutely bossing the league. There is no planet anyone would claim Hamer is having a better season. Well maybe one or two people...Check it out for yourself dude

The suggestion is adding half a team's worth of players to a settled squad midway through the season. 2 or perhaps 3 I agree are needed for areas where we'd be struggling with an injury to a particular player, but I don't see where else we need to add more depth aside from the wings, centre mid and perhaps left back. Also saying it will unsettle our squad is just negative guess work. I mean having Woolf as competition has spurred on Thomas and Kitch. I don't think any of or starters are thin skinned. If having players in the door meant a better chance of becoming a Prem player next year they would snap your hand off. And frankly any that didn't feel like that aren't really cut out for it
The question was in any case about who's the better player. I'm not sure how else you want to measure that? If you want more goals Torp's your man, no doubt about that.I'm sure I can find a few random Championship midfielders with better stats in certain areas, unfortunately those players aren't banging in volleys every other week nor are they a key player for the team absolutely bossing the league. Hamer has never even been promoted from this division. Let's talk about Torp at the end of this season, he's on course to eclipse anything Hamer has done if he keeps it up.The question was in any case about who's the better player. 4-5 isn't that mental. Rotating and backing up what we have. 2-3 loans and a couple of quality signings isn't excessive. Need to get out of the little old Cov mindset. Top teams have depth in their squads. We are doing amazing but have been very lucky with injuries over the last 3 seasons really. The suggestion is adding half a team's worth of players to a settled squad midway through the season. 2 or perhaps 3 I agree are needed for areas where we'd be struggling with an injury to a particular player, but I don't see where else we need to add more depth aside from the wings, centre mid and perhaps left back.

Getting bodies in would also give us scope to let some of the fringe players out, Brau isn't gaining anything currently. Get a new LB move him potentially Bodwell out.

I've said before, although I agree on the positions of priority and those are most likely, recruitment is also about timing. If that Bodo CB becomes available I wouldn't be shocked at all, even if we don't really need one.So aside from a wide attacking player, a CM and a left back, where else do you want more signings?
If there's someone truly outstanding who's available sure, but they really would need to be outstanding if we're going to add in those sorts of positions.I've said before, although I agree on the positions of priority and those are most likely, recruitment is also about timing. I really rate Dasilva this season but what happens if he gets knackered? Brau looks so raw and could be loaned out himself, Bidwell really doesn't fit our needs for a progressive wingback. Surely we could loan someone in? Feels like wed be able to give loan players cup games and a chance to fight for their spot. I think we'd be able to bring them on if we are comfortable. We are not getting another left back until the summer. He wasn't great yesterday but Dasilva has been fine this season.
I just can't see us signing a player in a position we already have 3 senior players in. After maybe RB, because both of those are high quality, or GK, it's probably the position I'd be most surprised to see us sign for.I really rate Dasilva this season but what happens if he gets knackered? Same goes for a Grimes understudy, he is a rare player profile though. There must be an option out there that has his holding abilities as we have noone that can come close currently.
Well Lampard wanted Bamford so I could see another striker in. BTA has played best covering the space Rudoni left. Could loan in a prospect with actual pace. Something different than we have.So aside from a wide attacking player, a CM and a left back, where else do you want more signings?
A winger who can play either side, a CM and that's it as far as I'm concerned.
Are this winger or CM also kinda an AM? We are short of one imo and Rudoni does take knocks.A winger who can play either side, a CM and that's it as far as I'm concerned.
Personally think that is utter bollocks! Top teams have strong squads, we currently have a very thin squad on a bit of a knife edge if key players get injured. We would be screwed if Dasilva or Grimes went out long-term.
Burnley added 6 to their squad in Jan 25. It's just want is required to kick on.

Most people think we need a winger to cover/rotate Tats. We can certainly get better LB cover/competition. I honestly think it's mental we haven't got a plan B if Grimes gets crocked. Then we were obviously looking at Bamford so I don't think 4 is unrealistic.
Aidan Morris, plays a similar role at Boro and having a superb season, still 24.I really rate Dasilva this season but what happens if he gets knackered? Nah, Bidwell has been a great servant for this club but he no longer fits what we need. Brau doesn't look disciplined enough from the small cameos he's had. Nothing from how he's been used in the last few months makes me think they have confidence in him. Loan him out. Bidwell may not want to leave but that doesn't mean we can't loan in someone closer to Dasilvas profile.I just can't see us signing a player in a position we already have 3 senior players in. After maybe RB, because both of those are high quality, or GK, it's probably the position I'd be most surprised to see us sign for.
Well Costelloe went straight back out on loan, Banel didn’t play a minute for them, Shelvey played 11 minutes and Barnes barely over 90 minutes TOTAL.Personally think that is utter bollocks! Top teams have strong squads, we currently have a very thin squad on a bit of a knife edge if key players get injured. We would be screwed if Dasilva or Grimes went out long-term.

Neither has Gyokeres but Carlton Morris has, does that make Morris a better playerHamer has never even been promoted from this division. Let's talk about Torp at the end of this season, he's on course to eclipse anything Hamer has done if he keeps it up.
