Hull fans think we will come back in with £12m but think it;ll be rejected as Hughes can do much better than us

100%

I’d rather these type of signings who could potentially step up if we were to get to the promised land.

If Doug gets this over the line and spends this sort of money without selling MVE then hats off to the man

I agree but there's not much sell on potential unless we go up so he has to do the job.

Why do supporters care about the fee ?

Its not our money to worry about and the club will stay within FFP

While Wrexham out here splashing cash like nobodies business haha.

I am just used to us being skint I think, worrying that the pot is dry if we spend this much with nothing left in the kitty.

What a time to be a Cov fan, we’ve been through the ringer and now bidding £10m on a 22 yr old that’s more of a ‘player with potential’ as opposed to tried tested and proven for years. Never thought I’d see the day if I’m honest. You buy someone for that much and you wonder we’d have a hard job to then make a profit on someone spending that much but maybe it’s more about if that player takes you to the premiership as opposed to flipping him.

Look at Arsenal, never really sold any of their players for much.

I think Doug will put a 12m bid in and they will accept, some left over for Boving and that'll probably be that, I was hoping for 3 untill I saw the Godo figure. Then again we could get a wild card signing in to make it 3 more before the window closes , just don't know what's happening

Because it could be used on other players and ideally we'd probably get 2-3 more in?
There's also the worry that if we spaff all our funds now it could impact any movement in January should we need reinforcements.

Did I read they wanted £7m for Godo on here??

Remember we brought Bakayoko for 300 k under sisu 😂 now we're bidding 10 million

Clearly we have had some sort of encouragement from Hughes representatives to continue to submit more bids. A huge clue will come this weekend. If he’s in the Hull team Saturday, I would hazard a guess it’s unlikely to happen.

Thing is he’s 21, clearly going to get a lot better. If we spend 12m now he will be worth 20m in 1-2 years time barring any terrible injuries. So if you’ve got the money available to do it, you do it

It’s not necessarily the fee, it’s also the risk associated with it being on just one player. He gets a bad injury that affects him permanently or doesn’t actually improve, then we can lose out significantly.

I think he looks a good defender, I do not think he looks like the best CB in the league.

Well that’s the thing for me. He’s not “clearly” going to get better. Hopefully he will, but it’s certainly not clear cut!

Yes mate your read correct, did not expect to see that, I've been posting saying I'd be happy with Woolfenden (would prefer Hughes but I settled on Woolfenden because I thought the Hughes deal was off) Boving and Godo but as soon as i saw that I've changed my kind on Godo lol , maybe Doug will throw in a 3rd signing we've not heard of or been linked with to go with the other two to finish off the window,

If we ever get to the premier league , our fans will have to get us to us paying more than 15 pound and 2 Mars bars for players

Some of the fees banded around up there are absolutely nuts, and for mediocre shite

The risk is then decreased because we’ll have 10 x 15 millions to wave around like Nigerian princes!

Fuck me! I was expecting it to be like £1m-£1.5m max!

The club will do the business they feel they need to do , its not for us to worry about the pennies , weve clearly got money
I'm not sure we've clearly got enough to be spending £10m+ on individual players

And it would seem silly to spend that and not get another winger or even a striker.

Id argue that every penny is more important for us in the premier league. A promoted side simply cant get anything wrong ..

We get the right players in now who can step up then thats going to save us money and benefit us

We aren't getting a striker in when we have 4 on the books. Spending big on a CB when we only have 2 we actually mind playing is much wiser.

Hull forum:

“Owner is convinced we’ll get £20M for Hughes next summer”

“They’ll come in for £12M”
“Even so, tell em to $@$@ off”
“Hughes can do better than Coventry”

😂 BITTER
