Tbf I agree if you don’t count the players we’ve signed then it is certainly difficult to say we’ve strengthened the squad, yes

You’re asking me if we’ve strengthened the squad, I said the only player so far that looks to have significantly improved the squad since this time last year is Grimes. I don’t feel that KKH is currently an upgrade on Van Ewijk, he might be in the future but atm I’d take Van Ewijk over KKH every day. Brau looks alright but not sure if he’s much of an upgrade on Dasilva, and Rushworth is a space-saver for Dovin. So yeah, apart from Grimes we haven’t significantly improved the team from last season. We just need a quality CB and a quality CF and we’d be set for the season.

With all due respect you have positioned this as a statement of fact.

Until we have seen them all play, as a unit, these are opinions and in truth, guess work as we stand today.

Would be a good signing. A better Lati imo.
Forget that. Just seen he done his knee last week and out for a while.

Lati, you’re back in again.

Why do we need to strengthen?

We finished 5th. I’d take that again and another shot at the playoffs. And that was with a poor start.

Glad you aren't the manager christ.

Imagine Lampard just saying "meh not arsed about strengthening as we finished 5th last year"
He has strengthened the team though, the goalkeeper was the major weak point and it has been sorted. Aside from that we're good to go. I think the expectations on here are silly, Lampard has said time and time again that he likes the squad, some of the bright sparks on here took that to mean at least seven signings.

Because we didn’t get promoted? The league looks very competitive this year and I can only assume that not strengthening will yield the same result as last year. I get that it’s a long term goal that Doug has in place but I’d have hoped for us to be signing some quality on top of the quality we already have, rather than filling in gaps or injured players.

With our wage budget we aren't ever going to have a "complete" squad , we will always have to make do in certain areas and prioritize others.
Yes the squad is unbalanced at present but I don't think for one minute our activity ,whether permanent or loanee, has been finalised yet
