We have a strong base, I just feel we need the finishing touches.

A new CB whos at least good enough to challenge Kitching/Thomas

A new dynamic CM. If we are saying sheaf and grimes don’t work together, there’s a lot of pressure on Torp.

A inventive CAM someone to cover for rudi, pull rabbits out of hats and just be something different

A winger who can play both sides, quick, direct and not afraid to run at players

A number 9 - Marquee man.

There must be at least a few players available on loan who can tick these boxes.

We are three signings from being very useful. Need to create space with Collins, Bidwell and possibly Allen or Eccles or BTA, spme of who would command a decent sum. We could then bring in a ST, RAM and an experienced CB.

I wouldnt describe signing 5 new players as the finishing touches

We need a CB which is top class for this league and better than our current 2.

Writing Brau off before the season has even started, come on 😂

I would imagine Dasilva will start LB against Hull, which given how he ended the season (and has been decent in pre season) is no bad thing.

Brau will then start to challenge him as he gets used to the league etc.

Bidwell shouldn't really be in the conversation the way he's looked for the last 6 months.
And TBF to Da Silva he looks quite sharp and looks to have lost a few Ibs

As I've said before, Brau seems to have been arranged for a while now and was probably going to be our first choice LB, but Dasilva picked up massively towards the end of last season and has been quality so far in preseason so I think it's a case of Frank playing Brau further up because Dasilva is doing so well at LB.

100 percent agree with this

And even if we only tick off 1/2 of these 5 before the window ends it puts us in a great position.

We're not a million miles away. No panic

Just half of the outfield players, very subtle mate

Happy BTA and Simms scored today, will keep people crying about strikers for an hour, maybe 2.

Wright is the marquee man upfront.

If we’re being realistic, it would look something like:
- CB
- Winger
- AM who can play out wide or vice versa

I’ve not been to the preseason games but it seems that Lampard may be happy to keep Andrews around the first team squad and Rapha may be ready to play a role for next season.

@Jimmy87 is usually bang on the money and he’s said we’re after a right sided attacker, id expect that to come to fruition. Binks also needs replacing and I think whoever we bring in will start over Kitching.
The obsession to find a better centre back than our best centre back is weird .
If Perry ,as looks likely , is going to be given time then Lati can't be third choice we need a solid third centre back to compete with Thomas and Kitching

Two from five is the most likely outcome here

He bought on bidwell over Perry yesterday. I think that suggests he won't be playing Perry too often in the near future

Perry is a right sided CB. So we needed to consider what we would do if Kitching unavailable, trying Bidwell as an option makes sense.

What has sheaf got to do with anything? Time to question this fucking owner when everyone else is strengthing and we’re standing still
But how many sides have strengthened?

Birmingham. But we are yet to see how they will do in the Championship.

Wrexham. Same as above but how many of their signings would improve us?

There's been well over 100 players signed in the Championship so far. Out of the full list I would put 2 of our signings near the top. Most of the best players signed are replacements for those who have left that club.

Out of the players that have left our club Binks was the best. Would anyone have put him in our 1st team? So we're stronger than last season. We've got until September 1st to bring in who we need. It's best to make sure as much as possible that the right players come in and not panic signings because the season is about to start. Another Prem loan or two would be great.

Tbf does anyone know how much we can afford to spend as a club? I’ve not got the figures for the FFP stuff, do we have to sell before we can buy, or can Doug invest extra cash himself to buy players? I’m not sure what the financial/legal side of buying players actually entails tbh.
You're allowed to make a loss of £13m a year with a cash injectionor £5m a year without. With the sales of Binks and Gyokeres going through we're close to even on transfers. So the rest will depend on our operation losses over the past 3 years.

are you being serious?

watford
norwich
West Brom

All had good windows

then you have the likes of Ipswich, saints and Leicester who will all be up there

then Sheffield Utd, boro, Wrexham and blues

the league is wide open and stronger than last season

have they? Norwich lost their best player or one of them and Sargent is still 50/50 to go.

Watford have brought in 9 players but also lost 9. Most of which will need to know the championship.

West Brom have made one decent signing. In a very average team.

we have brought in 3 quality players and sold Binks for a profit. I would say we’ve had a really good window so far.
