interesting that Oggy said he thought there would be maybe 3 new players in before September to spice things up. No idea if he was giving us a hint or simply want he thinks we need. A LCB, CF and RW would be my choice but if there is a deal to be done to get a new CM as well then all well and good for me.

He agreed we need a top class CB and a striker but admits there needs to be some outgoings up front

We are leaving it late with plenty still to do, but the powers that be must think the wait will be worth it. I certainty dont think its a lack of effort on the clubs behalf, but i just put it down to us going after real quality which take time.

Also we need to move some on but Doug is someone that is not going to give players away. Lets see but id love to see 2 real 1st team starters come in. We need signing that will make a difference just because we can sign them. Lets see..

Why the slagging off of sheaf? He’s the last of our worries
It's frustrating how close he plays to Grimes and how little he is affecting the game.

Grimes moved into Sheaf's 8 role for 5 minutes in the 2nd half and he dribbled past his man and got forward to support attacks more than Sheaf did in his entire 60 minutes on the pitch.

I'm sure how unnatural Sheaf looks in this role is the reason we're being linked to that MLS midfielder.

I'd like to see a striker and a centre back come through the doors, but as it stands I think we'll be alright.

We probably won't do any better than last year, but I can't see us doing massively worse.

The biggest things that are plaguing us at the minute is how slow our play is, and the cock ups at the back. Any time we've upped the tempo we've looked really good, but for the most part it's just really pedestrian.

The other night against Betis there was a period in the game where we upped the tempo a lot and started playing really quick passes up to and then around the box and it's the best we've looked with these players.. but then 30 seconds later it's slow and predictable again.

It's the exact same thing with our pressing. The few times we fully committed to the press and got after Betis and St Pauli as a team we forced errors, created chances, and scored.

But it doesn't happen very often for some reason. Only the striker and 10 go while the other midfielders don't push up.
