As it stand out first 11 could be

Wilson
Ewijk Thomas Kitching Brau
Sheaf Grimes
Rudoni
Saka Wright Mason-Clarke

When you write it down that’s a promotion 11

That team finishes between 5th-9th (depending on luck) like the last 3 seasons. Unless Lampard has worked wonders in pre-season the side still struggles against low-blocks, concedes silly goals & can't compete with the big boys so won't be favourites for the play-offs

Id imagine most of the players were available.

The point im trying to make is, if we are unsure if he will make it, why are we making him the main media man. It is odd.
Well maybe they reckon he does have a chance to make it then?...Maybe he just fancies himself as a model... Maybe he just wants to make himself available so people think he's making an effort, could be any reason who the fuck knows.

Not specifically you but there are a few on here that love to write off young players before we have really seen them kick a ball. Bit of a weird mindset. Let's just see how he goes.

Add in Dovin (or the new loan keeper) and KKH at LB and its the strongest XI on paper for over a quarter of century for my money.

That Sheaf link looks standard X BS - wouldn't give much attention.

Hes just joined my local golf club, and moved in this area so not sure if that suggests hes happy to stay put.

A fully fit Sheaf is game changer, dont believe he was ever fit last year. Remember this time last year, we were demanding £20m for him!

Still fully believe there is load going on behind scenes, Lampard will not just accept status quo, nor should he. We have to evolve, albeit within our means.
Do we underestimate just how desperate Frank Lampard was for a job?

Both Eccles and Lati have played outside their primary position a handful of times over the last 2 seasons.

Eccles is a solid player who’d start for every team outside the Top 8 comfortably. On Lati, it’s telling that he started off first choice for Robins and Lampard to end up losing that starting berth. As a CB (particularly in a 2), he’s just not that good imo. He was pretty unconvincing whenever he’s played CM and at RB he was limited, particularly going forward.

Rudoni and Haji are examples of a players who cover multiple positions and make an impact on the game. Heck, Rudoni has played RW, LW, CM and even LWB outside his primary position.
I'd always keep Eccles and Lati as squad players.

In the Championship top players are not going to be happy warming the bench, so you just have to accept that squad players are inferior. The only argument is just how inferior?

Da Silva, Lati and Eccles make the cut, Collins and Wilson don't. Buying specifically squad players could well be the toughest job of all in the transfer market so it is better if they are like Eccles - previously first choice but now downgraded..

It is nearly the same 11. But Thomas has progressed as have EMC, Saka, Kitching and Rudoni. Plus we’ve added KKH, Brau and Grimes. And we got to the play offs - let’s not forget.

who knows what will happen come the season
Who knew gyokores would improve as he did - the same with Callum wilson previously

Adam Armstrong season, I dont think we scored preseason (or not many) and then started scoring for fun once we kicked off

Trust in the management team, so that come the start of the season, they will have the team they need

Most of the 'rumours' on here are either fake or not up to our standard. We are aiming at top two and if that is so we need quality loans, not good championship players, there is a difference. We rave about Hamer, and think we need 11 of him, but look he can't get a premiership move, he isn't good enough for that sort of money. Leeds have bought on the continent , same fee better option. We need two or three premier loans like the Brighton keeper.

We don't have the financial backing sufficient to buy our way into the top 2. We want permission to buy a ticket for the play off lottery.

Have we done enough so far in the window to give City a fair shot at positions 3-6? Almost certainly not, only if our rivals fuck up - which they have conveniently done twice in three years admittedly. .

Can we please stop putting KKH at left back and writing off Brau?
From what has been mentioned previously Brau was a signing we were going to make even if we got promoted, that alone suggests he's fairly decent

KKH won’t be left back. I’ve seen it mentioned but it’s madness. We have 3 actual left backs at the club of which we’ve just signed one. To suggest putting a right back there is mad ahead of 3 players whose actual position it is

He isnt a RB and our 3 LB 2 are not goo⁸d enough to push on and 1 is going to need time to settle.. Now, im not saying KKH is going to start on the left side. But if the squad is what we have now at this minute going into Hull no way does MVE sit on a bench ad we play KKH on the right with Bidwell or JDS on the left.

Brau needs minutes, fitness and to get up to speed of our game.

Do we think it just a coincidence that Sheaf has today been linked with Genoa when we are supposedly interested in their Seydou Fini?

Might indicate the clubs have been in talks. Could also just be nonsense (although it feels very particular and Viera would know Sheaf from his Arsenal days).

Someone has to go, MVE, Sheaf, Wright, Simms im sure all will be evaluated to what it would mean to do a deal. I hope the club are also working on Collins, Binks, Bidwell, JDS, Eccles, Simms, BTA and Norm to see whats best for club to improve the squad.

You might want to keep them. Would they be willing to stay if they were pushed further down the pecking order? It’s apparent that both players want to be starters.

How do you improve the CM / CB positions without letting players go?

I’m relaxed about changing the CM department as long as we get forward players in (2-3 players who can play RW-AM-LW). Defensively, something needs to give because I’m not seeing how we improve this area without new players.

Wishlist:
Collins (Free) -> Carl Rushworth (Loan)
Binks (£1m) -> Eiran Cashin (Loan)
Allen (£750k) -> Lasse Berg Johnsen (£3.5m)
Thomas-Asante (£3m) -> Tyrhys Dolan (Free)

other outs:
Bidwell (£500k)
Raphael (loan)
Obikwu (loan)
Perry (loan)
Daush (loan)

other ins:
Bertaccini (£6m)

Wow.

Binks £1m??
Allen £750k??
Bidwell £500k??
Thomas-Asante £3m??

I’d suggest we would get about one half of your valuations for each of those, two-thirds at the absolute top (they are all non-starters in a championship team).

We would even struggle to get the fee you propose for Collins, as I don’t see who will take him even on a free. Paying his contract up may be our only option.

But thats just it, nobody knows unless you have some inside info?

It was mainly certain fans who built up the noise around about 8 or 9 players coming in. It seemed to be based on what was in their heads, rather than what was in Frank Lampard's head.

Okay there has been little coming out from the club in the way of rumour, although it was reported "no one has been told to find a new club.". Even that got twisted to, because certain players will be looking for a new club themselves.

One thing I do know, is at the moment, the squad we have, is the squad we have.

The same was said about Haji Wright and when he’s fully fit and firing, he’s a league leading player in his positions.
