He is not good enough for where we want to be.
Assuming that our ambitions are still to be a regular top 6 team then Dasilva (at his best) is plenty good enough. And yes, I’m aware that’s a pretty big caveat!

Have we accepted a bid?
We will, I wouldn't be suprised if a deal hasn't already been in the pipeline for a while, Doug must of been confident of one to have brought in KKH for good money.
KKH hasn't come here to be sat on the bench, so it looks like we might make a decent profit on MvE to (hopefully) re invest.

There is no doubt. Da Silva and Brau will be competing for left back berth.

Da Silva had a very good end to the season and has represented Wales well too.

Bidwell will be sold/moved on.
That is really worrisome if so.
Bear in mind players can't always just walk into the starting 11 and perform instantly with new team mates, tactics, playing ethos etc.

Throwing Brau in instantly, even if he's planned to be the long term starter, could be a mistake. If his defensive responsibility especially isn't absolutely second nature by season opener then I expect him to have minutes off the bench initially to get match experience. Better that than lose confidence if he makes mistakes due to decision making in an unfamilar system for example.

Rudi took a few games to reach his peak when he arrived (not suggesting he started badly) but the defensive risk of his position is obviously much lower.

Judging by your stockports, notts countys etc the nl is maybe better
Think it should become a League 3 and given at least 1 additional promotion spot personally but not a convo for this thread. A feather in the cap of English football that not only are we the only country that can justify 4 professional leagues but i think we could justify 5. Still plenty of real football fans out there.

Bidwell I can see going
Collins too if we can convince anyone to have him
Lampard likes Latibeaudiere
I still think Viveash will convince Boro to come in for Eccles

Eccles seems like a smart replacement for Hackney. In a similar way that we've finally replaced Gus by bringing in Rudi and Grimes. I'd expect Boro to do something similar as replacing Hackneys output would be near impossible.

A number of things to consider on a development loan when people come knocking for one of your players.

1. Adopting to a new environment and squad.
2. Will they get opportunities to play.
3. The managers skill set and temperament.
4. The style of play they adopt.
5. The skill set of the coaches at the club.

Some of the above can be more important than the difference between it being a League 1 or League 2 club or a Scottish club.

I think someone like Walsall would have been perfect
Yeah and FGR has that mad vegan wind factory grifter as an owner, I'd be happier if we could find a different club at that level. Also they have Robbie Savage managing them. 🤭

We certainly need a keeper in on loan we are only an injury away from Collins back in goal
Problem is, it will surely lead to Wilson being pissed off as the No.2. His role is to fill in for Dovin when he is injured, if you then go out and get a new temporary No.1, you're basically saying to Wilson that he can't be trusted. If we shift Collins, would someone come in on loan to be second choice behind Wilson for 6 months? For the hassle it might cause, I wouldn't be surprised to see nothing happen in goal and they wait it out and cross their fingers nothing catastrophic happens

Will end up like Troy Deeney, they just bring random people in.

Didn't they want the woman from Chelsea at the time as well?

Wilson will have just been happy to get a contract and stick around. Going into the season with him starting would be madness.

Trouble is funding 5 divisions full time is unaffordable without money from the Prem clubs. Germany only has two. And the Prem clubs increasingly feel less inclined to the charity of helping fund the lower leagues from their TV money. And you can see why. They draw very few players from the pyramid

The Premier League is the exact opposite of a feather in our cap and represents everything wrong with modern football, but again, a different thread. I'm far more proud of our pyramid than the division at the top of it.

My ideal result for the full back situation would be to move MVE, Dasilva and Bidwell on. Toffolo on a free to start with Brau back up and a modest fee on a KKH backup on the other side.

Would improve the overall unit immensely while giving decent funds to refresh elsewhere in the squad.

Even to stay where we are we need to refresh the squad a bit. Assuming MVE leaves, you also want to shift a few (Binks, Bidwell, Collins, Allen and a striker sound the most likely from the ITK chat).

Before Sep you'd ideally have a GK, cover at RB and an upgrade at CB, CM and up top if we can shift what's there now. If Raphael isn't trusted for real mins then we need competition for Sakamoto, too.

Eccles, Torp, Sheaf, Grimes, Rudoni plus an 8-10 hybrid feels like enough. Need more from Torp, though. Think we'll see movement later in the window this time with the need to shift players first.
