Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window (112 Viewers)

Windass - old story - regurgitated news, Rudoni - to Newcastle (Dail Mail) regurgitated news, Milan - all regurgitiated stories. The role of a football agent - to get the best deal for their charge. The role of a football journalist - to create stories fiction or non-fiction to appease firstly their boss, second their readership but no one in particular. The role on here - to spread rumours, to whine, to whinge, to dream, to enjoy said stories, rumours, - reading can seriously damage your health - advise - do not take it seriously.

It’s a nothing rumour but Windass would be a good signing. Wouldn’t he have been our top scorer last season from midfield? Can play either wing and off the striker. Seems ideal to me.

This isn't news, it's common sense? That only the fantasists wouldn't realise. When you've clubs like Villa having to sell a promising RB for about half his projected value to us, surely that shows how the system has to work.

And we must have seen about 8 different versions of how the Vik money has / hasn't been spent yet. Goalposts keep moving funnily enough depending on the days events. Throw enough shit, and something sticks.

One other thing to consider is we can only have a 25 man squad. If Dovin is expected back in November time you’ve got to include 3 goalkeepers

GK: Dovin, Wilson, Collins

DF: DaSilva, Brau, Bidwell, Kitching, Binks, Thomas, Latibeudiere, MvE, KKH

MD: Grimes, Sheaf, Eccles, Rudoni, Torp, Allen

ATT: EMC, Sakamoto, Wright, Bassette, BTA, Simms

theres 24 already. Leaves us 1 at max before we need to sell.

You’d imagine push came to shove we’d leave a left back out of that. Not that it’ll come to it.

I think we need to see one of: Bidwell/Dasilva, Lats/Binks, Simms/BTA, and/or Eccles/Allen go and replaced (or not if the LB)

Bidwell I can see going
Collins too if we can convince anyone to have him
Lampard likes Latibeaudiere
I still think Viveash will convince Boro to come in for Eccles

I agree that's what we'll look to do. Hopefully there are some interested parties.

It has to be the LB position wouldn't be surprised if it was Brau who was to drop out the squad for the first half of the season.

Can't see this. No way they'd waste any money bringing in Brau if they didn't think he was better than one of, or preferably both of, Dasilva and Bidwell. My gut is Bidwell goes, i'm not sure i buy us looking at another LB so actually Brau may well end up being the preferred starter.

he also isn't going to move to a new country to not be in the squad

From the videos the club have put out, he looks a hell of a lot leaner than the rest of the squad, we know from previous years that signings from abroad take longer to settle. Just thinking that if we can't shift someone out, will we spend time up until Christmas bulking him up, getting him up to speed with tactics etc.

If thats the case, it has already proven to be a disastrous signing.

How about this for a scenario - both Bidwell and JDS go and we get another LB in as first choice

It doesn't seem like we are actively trying to off load anyone at the moment. Post Portugal and maybe a friendly of two, that landscape may change. But I still don't think this summer is going to be as dramatic as some were predicting a month or two ago.

I don't think we need to actively off load anyone / tell them they're surplus to requirements

There is no way the agents of players who couldn't get game time last year (BTA, Binks, Lati, maybe Eccles & Bassette) or look out of favour this season (Bidwell, Simms, Collins) won't be trying to find first-team football for their client

On what basis does Simms look out of favour this year?

Not too worried if it’s one in one out. Our squad is competitive as it is.

I’d like a striker but would be crazy to drop more money on one with four on the books.

Likewise I’d like another midfielder but one needs to move to free up the space - Allen, Eccles or Sheaf.

Would love to move Collins on but with Dovin out accept we start the season with Wilson and Brad.

RW cover for Tats and another RB when Milan goes and I think I’d be content. Although he infuriates me I wouldn’t rule out Simms having a good season or Bassette for that matter.

I'm unsure whether Dasilva will be moved on. I think he'll be in FL's plans this season.

Which means another LB won't be coming in.
There is no doubt. Da Silva and Brau will be competing for left back berth.

Da Silva had a very good end to the season and has represented Wales well too.

Bidwell will be sold/moved on.

0 minutes in the play-offs shows Lampard doesn't trust him & Wright is first-choice ST

He's definitely not going to be in the first 11 when everyone's fit - if I was him I'd ask my agent to see if I could get a move somewhere to be the main man

In this case I’d be looking at someone like Callum Doyle (v unlikely to actually be him) who could play LB and LCB so they could tuck across to form that back 3 on the ball without Grimes having to drop. Can’t imagine KKH will be used like this in the same way MVE was at times.

Bling cant seem to afford Michael Doyle let alone Callum Doyle.

He is not good enough for where we want to be.
He has proved he is more than capable at top end of championship. Yes hes not premier league yet. But we dont really want to be spunking more money on a position where we are well stacked.

Brau will be an upgrade on both or we would not have bought him. So chill out and have faith. Im more than comfortable to give Brau a chance.
