I would like Guiu

This is me, moments after hearing the news that we have signed him on a season-long loan deal:

Corrected.

We need better. At least one of these needs improving on. We'd get the most for Simms whilst Bassette offers us potential profit and BTA offers us something a bit different.

Bassette got 2 didn't he?

Everton reportedly circling for MVE.

Their fans seem to think they can get him for a bargain price, though it is unclear on what that is based: probably just wishful thinking.

We need at least a couple of clubs to be competing for him.
They probably could get him for a good price, they will know we already have his replacement signed and will be wanting a sale this window.

I think the fact that we have got a replacement in early means we won’t be so desperate to sell, which could help us to hold out for a better price.

It’s true we will need a second RB if MVE goes but the pressure is a bit less as it is for cover and we do have Lati and also Eccles as things stand.

Absolutely nobody is perfect, so "Trust in (fill in name)" is a little bit daft. They will cock up at some point, in fact to have some cock ups is a good thing. Americans recognize the need for failure, Brits tend not to. But as soon as you say "trust in" you are saying in effect, that there will be no cock ups. Dream on

I think this is a little over simplistic …. He’s contracted to us, getting better, and we don’t need to sell him particularly if another significant player is sold.

The club won’t sell him on the cheap.
KKH is probably the club insurance in case we get the money needed to pull MVE. Helps me can play multiple roles so he isn’t necessarily frozen out if MVE doesn’t leave

I don’t think trust in means no mistakes it means getting the biggest calls right …. Having the right intent …

We have lost our best player every summer under King so far. Why are our fans so delusional?

I assume that you are referring to Gykores, Hamer and O'Hare. There is no way that any of them were staying.

We sold Vik and Gus for decent money and reinvested the proceeds in strengthening the squad. Unless and until we get taken over by a mega-rich US or Middle-Eastern entity it's how clubs like us have to operate.

I'm pleased with the progress we have made under King 👍

Sisu didn’t sell him at all.

Do you consider the fact that they were going to move regardless as having any relevance ? At least King maximised the revenue . If you're also including COH in this that was purely down ultimately down to contracted wages as was proven when he ended up at Sheffield United

Big day for some of the new forum ITKs today!

Banishment and a full year of exile in the Coventry City Fans Forum Facebook group awaits them all if Dolan isn’t unveiled within the next 10 hours…

Sometimes you can't help but sell your best players. So the best an owner can do is get the best deal possible.

Trying to hang on to players and forcing them to stay has a negative impact on the player. It also impacts on your ability to sign good players in the future.

Bassette is also new to the league and the country and a very raw talent. He is still young, he will develop and improve. Not sure the other two will though sadly, I’d like them all to smash it this season but one of the three needs to be replaced.
Bassette has far more potential than the others, ive no idea if he will achieve that potential, but if he works hard and develops his game under Lampards guidance he has the ability to be a top player.

Simms isnt good enough imo, even when he had his little purple patch he still only managed 13 league goals in 46 appearances, and last season managed just 6 goals in 43 matches. (Another McNulty?)

BTA has decent pace and is a useful player to have on the bench, but isnt a starter if you genuinely want to get promoted.

I think it's fair to say we need to bring in at least 1 if not 2 strikers and ideally move 2 on. (If we can find any takers)
