One may still be on the books come the start of the season but not both.

Do you really think FL rates either of them?

They simply aren't good enough, we ALL know that and so does Frank and his staff.

Time will tell. Not sure either will be going out.

A managers lot is sometimes work with what you have got. It where the term Manage comes from.

Fans can move players in and out in their heads and convince themselves this is what will happen. The real world sometimes tells a different story.

If he stayed fit he'd be great, he's just too fragile and I think it's now affecting his game
He’s a yesterday man imo. For the wages he’d want, it’d be an expensive signing for us and he’s been plagued by injuries. Hard pass.

Could be a good signing for a parachute payment team though.

He would be dominant at this level if he could stay fit but I imagine his injuries have set him back for good, and he’ll get a PL move anyway.
The problem is that the operative word there is ‘if’.

IF he’d stayed fit from 2021, he’d have probably left Everton to a bigger team for 10s of millions. As a physical striker, if your body is no longer up to it, you’re cooked at the top level.

The playoffs are the minimum aim. But they can't say the auto's are included as we then expect them to happen.

Lampard's squad will be a top 6 squad. The question is can he make a top 2 side from a top 6 squad. Get it right up front and I think we can.
Considering how many we conceded last season (and many avoidable goals at that) I wonder if perhaps his focus might be more on shoring things up at the back. Not saying our options up front are great, but I think making us harder to beat might be more important than trying to outscore our opponents.

I fully agree with this we never really struggled for goals last season at all

The play offs is the aim. 3 out of 5 seasons. And you hope we luck out in the playoffs.

People forget we have a bottom half budget

Read somewhere we were 18th budget wise, then we sold Vic and Gus, had a good cup run and jumped to 8th.
If those two move on again, with increased gates, playoff income, merch, matchday income and increased TV revenue, we must hopefully be above half-way.
Three parachute payment clubs and just Sheff U still with payments? way above us. Unsure about claims for Brum and Wrexham. Rest are much of a muchness with only a few getting bigger gates than us. Think Derby, Boro and Norwich get bigger home gates.
Not owning our ground will be a drag on income especially with Mike Ashley appearing to play hardball.

Think we had a higher average attendance than both Norwich and Boro last season.

Would Dolan be coming in as a 9 or to compete with Sakamoto i wonder...

Greedy but I'd like Dolan AND a Number 9 with one of Simms/BTA going.

I assume he would be wing competition for both EMC and Sakamoto.

I just can’t see Simms with us next season now after his end to the season so I think a new 9 will come in this summer too and Simms to go.

Interesting so we’d have

Dolan
eMC
Sakamoto
Wright
BTA
Bassette

for 3 front places. Couple can play alternate positions too.

would ideally like a new ST in

Dolan would of been a lot of fans wanted list, if it turns out true would be an very good addition to the squad.

Lets see who else rocks up at Ryton.
We looked at Dolan last season too, iirc! It wouldn’t surprise me if we went back in for him. Shows continuity with the recruitment strategy which is a good sign too.

He is very lively, quick feet and looks like his 1st thought is to be to be positive with the ball. No reason why every club would of looked at him at some point. But he is valued 7 or 8 mill worth. If Doug and FL pull this one off can only be a good sign of the standard others to come.

Blackburn will get a training compensation no matter where he goes. But its a minimal fee and not close to his market value if he was under contract. Its a big if but if we do get this one, it will be a steal and would be a big statement as all the top clubs in this division would of been in for him.

qpr paid a 900k compensation fee for poku so it’s significantly more than a minimal fee

Hope this comes off

Weve looked at him last year but had a bid rejected

Be great competition for the wings

We seem to have a good relationship with Blackburn over recent years. Dolan would be a good signing for sure. And on a free it’s a no brainer and he is only 23.

Not seen much of him. I assume he’s backup for Saka rather than a replacement?
