For me this would be the window we need.

I don't really want Sheaf or Haji to go, but it may be needed to balance the squad.

Leaving:
Collins (Free)
Bidwell (nominal fee)
Binks (500k)
Lati (500k)
Burroughs (Free)
Sheaf (£5m)
Eccles (£3-4m)
Simms (£2-3m)
BTA (£3m)
Wright (£12m)
Paterson (Free)

That gives us along with some Gyokeres money around £30m to play with without Mr King having to put any money in.

We need 2 quality strikers with different qualities. One like a Morris or Moore with youth on their side, a focal point for us to aim for.
We also need one in the ilk of a mayenda or isiodor, with a bit of pace and trickery.

We would need 2 CM's in my opinion.
One as an understudy to Rudoni and another as a box to box all action midfielder.
Left back after his end to the season I wouldnt be opposed to JDS staying and being back up, but we need a dynamic powerful fullback

We need 2 CB. I personally quite like Thomas and Kitching together despite the odd mistake. One brick shit house with pace, and a young development centre back should suffice.

That would be a good start.

Leaving:

Collins
Bidwell
Binks - Think he’ll stay as understudy

Lati
Burroughs

Sheaf - Cant see who buys him from the league above no chance we sell him within our league. Think he stays.

Eccles
Simms
BTA - Think he stays as understudy

Wright - Difficult one to call, if someone in the states buys him then could see it happening, dont think he would have suitors elsewhere and may not want to risk being unsettled in a new club/country in a home world cup year.

I wouldn’t say major overhaul

the core of the team is there
The core is there but beyond that, it's not great.
- CBs- Lati and Binks aren't great
- No cover at right back
- No cover in the 10
- 3 of our 4 strikers are shite and the one that isn't is hit or miss
- No cover at right wing, we literally just have sakamoto
- No proper cover for left wing unless Wright plays there, as he doesn't rate Pato (who's out of contract in the summer) or Rodriguez.
- GK - surely Collins will go, we potentially need another
- CM - Allen will definitely go, potentially Sheaf or Eccles.

And that's before anyone comes in for Milan, Rudi or Wright.

I think he'll be released if we can, genuinely
Why? We signed him as a development prospect, I dont think it was ever a plan for him to really feature this season, he impressed in pre season so got mentioned here and there, then got an injury that setback his fitness alot and he went back to not being in consideration to play 1st team this season.

Actual professional championship football level fitness by the way would take MONTHS even a year to build up to if you’ve never done it before, or been building towards it for your career. The standard in australia is poor, imagine the youth standard even lower. Getting Rapha to match fitness isnt the same as getting someone back to match fitness after an injury.

I think there’s a stronger chance he’s an ace in the pack next season and we’re on here absolutely raving about him than him being released.

I keep hearing about big man because we score from crosses, set pieces and headed goals. We are more than team that lumps the ball in at the 1st opportunity in hope of a big man to get on it. We work space wide to create crossing opportunities, Wright and Simms are over 6ft and how many headers have they scored... Its not about getting a big man who you hit, its about finding a player that can move and time his runs, if he is 6ft 3 great, if he is 5 10 but has better movement and can use his head other than the two 6ft 4 we currently have ill take um.

Its movement and intelligence we need, not statues that hope it hits them. All i can say is im glad none of us are part of the recruitment dept it would be a disaster.

Simms has scored 4 headers so he’s done his bit in that regard. Haji has scored one I think and missed a couple of great chances.

Simms has scored 8 headed goals over the last 2 seasons which is more than the likes of Carlton Morris (4) and Keiffer Moore (3) who people have suggested would make better aerial threats.

I think is pretty fair.

I would only add that IMO Howley and Allen will also leave.

Then we would need.

GK
RB
CB
LB
CM
LW
ST (x2)

My ideal summer would be

Outs
Collins - not good enough
Wilson - we need to move on
Binks - take as much back as we can, terrible
Bidwell - we've moved beyond him but I think a Lowe championship club would see him as an asset
Allen - can be decent but we need better
Sheaf - regressed massively, does the same job as Grimes. Take the cash.
Eccles - Flashes good performances but I think better for both parties if he's first choice elsewhere
Simms - Someone will think they can get the best out of him. In reality only Ellis can and he may never do it.
Wright - If we could make our money back I'd be delighted, suspect he'd be happy to move for a higher profile league in WC year.
Paterson - Thanks for that goal
BTA - not impactful enough

That, along with Gyokeres moving on, should give us a decent war chest to go after

Ins
GK - Solid old head or a quality PL loan until Dovin returns
LB - Brau
CB - Solid championship player like the Grimes signing
RB - Milan needs taking out of the line sometimes
CM - Box to box player, I'm loath to say it but "the Hamer role"
CAM - Someone to take the load off Rudoni/not fuck us when he's injured
RW - If Raphael can't step up then we need someone to compete with Saka
LW - Cover/competition for EMC
ST - Need a clear out and get some players with drive and tenacity to lead the line in Lampard's system

There are a couple maybes in the squad that I'm leaning towards keeping just for some squad consistency/reduce expenditure.

Dasilva - much improved under Lampard
Lati - as a 4th choice CB and

I'd consider loaning out Raphael and Bassette as I both think need game time to develop.

This leaves a squad of

GK - Dovin, new keeper
LB - Dasilva, Brau
CB - Kitching, Thomas, new signing, Lati
RB - MvE, new signing
CM - Grimes (c), Torp, new signing
CAM - Rudoni, new signing
RW - Saka, new signing
LW - EMC, new singing
ST - new signing x2

Obviously if they feel like any youth players, Andrews for example, are ready to come through then you could reduce incomings because 9 signings is a big turnover. With all those going out though we would generate significant funds. It just depends on how much Lampard thinks he can impact the players already here really.

I'm hopeful we get Wright sold. It needs to happen for a couple of reasons imo, he's far too inconsistent and 2 years on since his signing, we still don't seem to know his best position, it's no good scoring a hat trick then being completely anonymous for the next 6 games. He will stifle the development of EMC, despite his stop/start season due to injuries, he looks effect and dangerous with the ball at his feet, has a nice habit of being in the right place at the right time to receive the ball at the back post from crosses too. He's also not good enough to lead the line as a main striker, the ball just simply doesn't stick and he doesn't work hard enough to close down spaces. Apart from Rudoni, he's the one likely to get the most money. Bring in an understudy for EMC, rebuild the striker department and we may even have money left over to bring in talented youth players to bolster the squad.

Not sure on anyone else but a decent few free agents I think we should be talking to in the summer.

I think Lati or Binks will go, I know other people aren’t keen by think Harry Darling would be a good pick up. One of the best passes in CB in the league, threat from set pieces and plays on the right and left which makes him great cover. Also still quite young

Think if we sell Sheaf, Kyprianou seems a ready made replacement. Don’t think we should sell Eccles so would leave us a CM four of Grimes, Kyprianou, Torp, Eccles.

Right wing, again I’d want a different option although Sakamoto has been class the last couple of games. Poku has been great last year and I think could easily step up. Young lad with a lot of potential and pace to drive at teams.

Not to mention other players like Jimmy Dunne.

I’m quite excited to see what happens this summer. Doug clearly likes Lampard a lot and isn’t going to make him get by on frees and loans. We were all told by the ITKs in January there was no money to spend and then we dropped £4m on Grimes.

Well at least there is clarity on which list we are pursuing now. Top three priorities incoming for me would be a left back who is positionally sound. A midfielder who contrasts with Grimes - a sort of Torp +. And an out and out striker who does the basics like controlling the ball and can pop a few in.

Realistically if we want to make a go of things next year then the GK we bring in has to be good enough to play all season. Dovin is a solid prospect, but is young and coming off a serious injury - if he’s your immediate/obvious first choice come January then it does not imply the team is in a good place.

If Sheaf signs a new deal, and we take up the option of Allen's contract, then I'd say our Midfield is strong enough for promotion.

Grimes
Sheaf
Rudoni
Kai Andrews
Allen
Eccles
Isaac Moore

we'll be lucky to get £5m for Wright.
