I’d rather have John

Clearly improved as a player but far too much of a chequered social background. Had crossed my mind that he may be performing better away from these shores for a reason…

Mathias Kvistgaarden now has Eintracht Frankfurt, Celtic and West Ham interested. Shame we didn’t get that one in the door a year ago, had a very good season.

Let’s say we could get £8m for Sheaf, do people think that would be enough to get Adem Zorgane or would he simply not be interested in us anymore and want bigger things?

Watching the playoff final. Young lad in midfield Yoganatham is on loan from Barnsley. He looks a prospect. Tall, good innthe air, strong, getting around the pitch.

looks a good prospect to get in have a look out, then send out on loan

I was at Wembley today. He is only 19, a Welshman and with a sri Lankan background. Lots of potential. Good in the air and on the deck.

Agreed. He's one I've liked for a while. Too rough around the edges to go straight into a Championship promotion chaser & on a very long contract at Barnsley though so would be expensive.

Think he’s likely out reach now. However, Lampard could be pull?

Wrexham fans podcast mention how they would love Haji Wright, being decent, American and representing them in next years World Cup. Weird reason but for £15m they could have him I guess. Woukd love to see him cope with Parky-ball

That really would be a statement signing. £15m rising to £20m would that temp us to sell to a "league rival"?

For 15 mill ill drive him there... We could improve our depth in quality in 2 different positions with 50% of that fee.

If they offered us £20m id really consider it

Will they be able to spend that sort of money though?

Can’t see it tbh, unless they offer 20 million as the minimum, taking anything less than 20/25 million for haji would be embarrassing and a joke

Especially to a team in the same league.

Won't happen anyway he's way too young for them.

Wrexham will not be spending anywhere near that on an individual player. Wouldn't be surprised if Birmingham tried it again but if they waste most of their funds on someone as shite as Stansfield again then happy days.

Wrexham don’t worry me, their policy of buying ‘proven’ players in their 30s on big wages won’t get them far. Think blues will be a force though.

So how would we replace his goals?

Do Birmingham have a pedigree whereby players would jump at the chance to join them? They are not the big fish in the small pond like they were in L1. They can offer money I assume, but what other pull is there? Currently I can not see them finishing above 10th and that is the upper limit, I think realistically it will be 13th-16th

Not sure Birminghams record when it comes to buying players for big money has been that good recently. If you look at all players who cost over a million last summer its fair to say i think you could spend that money a LOT better...

Until the final rounds like Boro or more like Norwich where they were there or there abouts for most of the season but never seriously threatened

Clearly it depends on what their squad looks like come the end of the window, but genuinely there’s about 4 of their players I’d say would make our matchday squad as it stands.

Yeh same but they'll definitely spunk their load. Whether it works out or not is another thing but it doesn't take all that much to be considered challenging for play offs when you look at some of the teams who fell just short this season.

I'd be surprised if Blues didn't spend a fortune. The problem for them is that they don't spend the money particularly well. I work with a blues ST holder and he reckons only 2 or 3 will be good enough for the championship.

End of the day I think for Birmingham and Wrexham there a big unknown. Could see both going either way.

A big step up for a few at Birmingham especially the manager imo.

Birmingham will be well up there. Squad is already strong and they'll make additions. Plus, they have momentum and the fans are well behind their surge.

I heard Wagner is funding the stadium by selling his used bath water to Blues fans.

Anyone thinking we dont instantaneously take £20m for Haji from literally any club, anywhere, needs a head wobble

We'd take £15m. Excellent profit.

Watching PSG on Saturday makes you realise how important it is to have wide players that track back and put tackles in, like Sakamoto does, and to a lesser extend EMC.

Wright does not do that, he's too passive and was useless as a sole striker at the back end of the season. For that reason I think he gets moved on if a good offer comes in.

Wouldn't surprise me to see us press bit more like that next year. lampard has says he watches other clubs to see what's working for them
