Watching this PSG Vs that one fully of the likes of Neymar, Messi and Mbappe is just the motivation anyone should need to actually run and bust a lung for your team mates. Yes you need skill but effort is the magic ingredient.

Hopefully this puts athe final nail in the dull Pep era football and we can get back to fun energetic attacking football

Just to keep it on the transfer thread we could do worse than get our scouts over to France. The academies over there pump out technically quality players.

Best French Cov player ever? 🤔 Other than Kev Málaga obvs

Dull Pep? His Barca side , the team at Bayern and at Man City until this season ,I've enjoyed watching them all.

This PSG is some team, can see them dominating for a while now, full of World class players, Doue /Barcola are superstars in the making

I get they are great teams, and can appreciate how revolutionary it was but it just wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong they had stars that were amazing at times but the base level tiki-taka that it ushered in everywhere is boring to me. Too much pass pass passzzzzzzzz 😴 give me blood and thunder, 100 mph any day. Kvaratskhelia thrashing about the pitch like a lunatic tonight was epic

That was up there with AC Milan winning 4-0 in the 90s .and Barca outclassing a decent Manure team 3-1 at the final at Wembley.
Thought Inter would of put up a better fight then that but they looked old and past it, but take nothing away from PSG, they were fantastic.

I'm happy Inter lost anyway, I'm Italian and a AC Milan fan, been an AC Milan fan from a young age,

I’m not sure I agree that we only need a keeper for half a season. Yes Dovin is a major improvement on Collins, but let’s be honest that is a low bar. If you look at the 3 teams that went up, they all have great keepers that would walk into our side even with an inform Dovin. I’m sure Trafford contributes massively to Burnley’s miserly defence.
yes, a quality LCB and LB are imperative, but a decent keeper will help our defensive record no end.

Dovin is young and was one of the better keepers in the division when he was playing. Injury aside I’d have expected him to be one of the top keepers next year. Obviously injuries you never know how someone comes back but I was more than happy with him.

People are not seeing the bigger picture with Riis and thinking we’d bring him in as the main man which I wouldn’t do.

What would be ideal however is to move BTA for what we bought him for and replace him with Riis. If you do that the difference in wages is negligible, the transfer kitty is bulked up and your third choice striker option has improved.

Do that and you get a player with a better goalscoring pedigree who fits the system more and you’ve got cash in the bank. Easy decision.

I’d rather Desire Doue more versatile so will be more useful off the bench 😉
On a serious note I wonder if our new business manager has any influential enough contacts in the PSG academy to get us a fast mobile rising star on loan?

Marc Guiu (linked with Ipswich) on loan from chelsea would be my number one choice in the loan market. A battling and technical forward who likes to close down from the front. Hope the lampard connection would help us beat Ipswich etc.

Why would riis want to come to us to sit on the bench when he could be first striker for many championship clubs?

Literally what I said about a month ago mate but people really struggle with it.

Don’t come on here with logical answers like that …. Fans want work rate and aggression combined with slow turning circles and errant passing …

Our strikers don’t score a goal ever other game at all though?

Ipswich money would beat most championship sides tbh

You would think he’s chosen to leave Preston in the hope of a pay rise and will be expecting first team football. If we make him an offer equivalent to BTA in terms of wages and playing time then I imagine he’ll get a better offer elsewhere.

Not convinced on Riis personally.
I think he's a good Championship player & will be a decent pickup for someone but I don't think he's a good fit for what we need.

He's at his best pulling wide & then driving in at goal, not dissimilar to Wright & BTA (or even Gyokeres).
He cannot operate as a lone target man in a 4-3-3. Despite his size & strength, his hold up play is almost non existent & if you think Wright & Simms are poor aerially, you haven't seen anything yet!
He does have wonderful technique when striking a ball & his finishing is definitely better than Simms & BTA but, unless we're about to lose Wright or have a drastic change in tactical approach, it's a resounding no from me.

Get Salech from Cardiff as 3rd option. Young, strong and can score, what's not to like??

Easy on paper but…will Riis want to be a bench warmer, from what PNE fans say he wouldn’t fit our system and who is giving us our money back on BTA?

Pretty sure you'd sell it as you're coming to an ambitious club to fight for your place rather than "fancy coming here as backup mate."
